We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join the Settlement & Tax team. The position will be based in Copenhagen, and start as soon as possible. You will report to the Engineering Manager, Alican Met.
You will primarily be responsible for:
- Developing, testing and maintaining high-quality backend services using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot
- Designing and implementing scalable, event-driven architectures
- Building and integrating RESTful APIs aligned with OpenAPI standards
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver new features and system enhancements
- Troubleshooting and resolving application issues, ensuring optimal performance and responsiveness
- Writing clean, maintainable and testable code following best practices
- Participating in code reviews and sharing knowledge with team members
- Supporting unit testing and continuous integration pipelines
- Using GIT for version control and team collaboration
- Contributing to our observability setup (experience with OpenTelemetry is a plus)
- Creating and maintaining clear technical documentation
Your profile:
- Strong foundation in software engineering principles (e.g. Clean Code, SOLID, basic Domain-Driven Design)
- Hands-on experience developing RESTful APIs using Java or Kotlin
- Familiarity with event-driven systems; experience with Kafka is a strong plus
- Proficiency in GIT and test-driven development
- Knowledge of or interest in observability practices (e.g. logs, metrics, tracing)
- Experience with Quarkus or similar frameworks is highly desirable
- Strong problem-solving skills and a team-oriented mindset
- At least five years of relevant experience in backend development
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- Excellent communication skills in English
