Platform Science seeks a Lead Software Developer in Test (SDET) specializing in API/UI automation testing. This role is integral to the entire software development lifecycle, focusing on releases, upgrades, enhancements, and performance improvements. You will be responsible for developing comprehensive test cases, conducting exploratory testing, and designing/implementing robust automated UI/API tests for our web applications. This position demands extensive technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to balance Indian and US time zones for client calls and production support.

This is a full-time position.

• Design, implement, and maintain automated UI/API test suites (Sanity, Regression, and Automation).

• Conduct exploratory testing on features and bug fixes using both manual and automated techniques.

• Identify, create, update, and track software defects in Jira and proactively review test results.

• Proactively and regularly communicate project status, risks, and other issues to stakeholders and management.

• Work effectively with minimal supervision within a distributed team and actively participate in code and test reviews.

Required experience

• 5–8 years of professional experience as a Software Automation Test Engineer with a focus on Web and API automation.

• Proficient in developing automation scripts for web automation testing using Selenium/WebDriver.io.

• Strong knowledge of software test design techniques (equivalence class, boundary value, decision table, use case testing).

• Hands-on experience in Agile testing practices including BDD, test automation, and continuous integration.

• Experience with automation frameworks (Mandatory) and skilled in writing BDD test cases and working with qTest.

• Proficient in testing Web Services and RESTful APIs.

• Experience testing Kafka and RabbitMQ messaging systems.

• Experience with Javascript/Typescript/Java programming languages.

• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), design patterns, and best practices.

Other Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• Good knowledge of AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud services.

• Strong understanding of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) practices.

• Ability to comprehend and communicate effectively with management, engineers, and customers.

• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex technical documents, diagrams, and data models.

• Customer-focused with excellent follow-through on commitments.

• Self-motivated, independent, and effective in a team environment.

• Strong communication skills.
