Linea Research are offering a unique opportunity for a student to join our Windows Software Development team for their placement year. This is a hands-on programming position and would suit students with a passion for problem solving who are looking to enhance their skills from within a team of experienced professionals.

Projects in the Software Department are very varied, ranging from creating new functionality in our existing products to building custom tools and utilities that support our development process. You'll be involved in exciting new product development, including projects that incorporate cutting-edge technologies which we will tailor to what best motivates you as an individual. This is a chance to work with emerging tech while learning how innovation happens in a real-world engineering environment.

This placement is designed not only to provide you with hands-on experience, but also to immerse you in our ethos of innovation and continuous learning.

Candidate Profile 

We are searching for a student who is not only passionate about technology, but also eager to make a discernible impact in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment. If you are seeking a placement that challenges you to apply your academic knowledge creatively and practically, we'd like to hear from you.

Key Skills: 

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate course in Computer Science or a related field. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.  Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.A keen eye for UX/UI design

Desirable Skills:

  • A basic understanding of WPFS
  • Some familiarity with C#
  • A desire to learn about audio, and the technologies surrounding it. 
  • Some familiarity with Git
