We are currently seeking a Software Developer to support MSA’s Life Sciences Healthcare Data Management initiatives.

 

Short Description:
In this role, you will assist in the design, development, and maintenance of the MSA healthcare data management platform. A successful candidate must have knowledge and experience with large-scale OLTP from multiple perspectives:  database, compute, information, performance, storage, network, process, flow, integration, security and application.  This position will provide vision, leadership and strategy as well as actively participate in the design, implementation and subsequent operations.
  

Responsibilities:

  • Work under the direct supervision of Senior Software Developers and Software Engineers to perform maintenance on existing software products
  • Develop Transact-SQL procedures and packages
  • Develop Microsoft, Pearl, and Unix Shell scripts
  • Participate in all aspects of the System Development Life Cycle
  • Provide regular operations support of clients via email communications
  • Design, Develop and Implement technical solutions based on business requirements
  • Design and coding of new and existing applications and components
  • Participate in code reviews
  • Perform unit testing and integration testing
  • Perform day to day troubleshooting of issues relating to QA and Production
  • Write technical documents as part of methodology established within the department
  • Write programs according to specifications of higher level staff
  • Work closely on a team of Analysts, Developers, Q/A, and documentation personnel
  • Contribute to software development process standards

 

Required Skills:

  • Requires a four-year degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Computer/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum six months of programming experience
  • Knowledge and experience of all aspects of the software development process
  • Fluent in Object Oriented analysis/development including related documentation methods. 
  • Experience with Unix and Oracle desired
  • Advanced technical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to function within a team-oriented environment
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
