About the role
As a Software Developer on our ERP team, you will build and maintain features across our business management applications. You'll work on backend services, APIs, and user-facing functionality, collaborating with experienced engineers to deliver reliable, high-quality software.

You'll take ownership of well-defined development tasks, contribute to technical discussions, and help solve real-world problems for businesses that depend on our software every day. This is an opportunity to strengthen your technical skills, gain experience with complex systems, and grow into taking on larger engineering responsibilities.

About you
You have a passion for solving complex problems and working on products that businesses run on every day. You enjoy setting the bar high and clearing it.

You have shipped real features to real users, and you can take a well-defined piece of work from a ticket to production with little hand-holding. You ask for help early when something is ambiguous, and you call out trade-offs nobody mentioned. You want to grow into owning bigger pieces of the system, and you learn fast from the people around you.

We hire humans, not job descriptions. You should apply even if this role and salary range don't align with your experience. We’re happy to create unique roles and compensation for the right talent.

What You'll Do:
  • Build and maintain features across our business management applications, contributing to backend services, APIs, and user interfaces.
  • Break well-defined work down into steps, deliver it, and raise the trade-offs you see along the way.
  • Design and implement database models, queries, and schema changes with attention to data integrity, performance, and maintainability.
  • Work with existing codebases to understand application behaviour, investigate issues, and implement reliable solutions.
  • Ship with tests, monitor your releases in production, and fix what breaks.
  • Give solid code reviews in your area, and learn from the reviews you get.
  • Keep your lead and your team informed with clear status updates, and flag risks early.
  • Learn from senior engineers, and help more junior engineers when you can.

We’re looking for someone with:
  • 2+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals based on a degree in computer science or distinctive work experience in software development.
  • Experience building backend services and APIs, and some front-end experience.
  • A good understanding of relational databases and SQL.
  • Strong focus on execution and delivery of the product.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a focus on quality and long-term goals.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where learning and adaptability are key
Preferred, not required:
  • Experience with Python and Django, and with Next.js or React.
  • Experience with ERP, accounting, or other business management software.
  • Some exposure to C++ or other compiled language.

About our culture
  • We're a remote-first company that encourages our employees to work from where they're most productive.
  • We work in tight-knit teams to cultivate an ownership mentality.
  • We cherish curiosity and an obsession for details because we know these details are invaluable over the long run.
  • We're hyper-focused on our achievements and our ability to execute our promises. We act with urgency.
  • Work anywhere in the world for up to 3 months!
  • We value families, by offering a parental leave program
  • We offer a work-from-home stipend
  • Your birthday (and our company's birthday) is a day off!

About our hiring process
  • You upload your resume and complete a brief questionnaire.
  • Two rounds of technical assessment.
  • Culture fit assessment.
  • Final interview with leadership.
