Radiance Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking candidates for a Software Architect position with experience in electronic warfare applications for Army or Department of Defense (DoD) customers. The candidate will provide technical support for multiple Army Acquisition Category (ACAT) II programs, including Major Capability Acquisition (MCA) and Middle Tier Acquisition (MTA) Rapid Prototyping projects. This position requires a talented Software Architect that can work with cross-functional and Joint-service team to drive software architecture and strategy in a dynamic operational environment. The candidate will define, document, and oversee software development for complex electronic warfare systems. As a Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support engineer, the candidate will augment the Government program office providing software architecture subject matter expertise through all phases of the system lifecycle, including requirements decomposition, vendor source selection, design, development, test and evaluation, training, and sustainment. The candidate should be well versed in Army or DoD systems engineering principles and concepts. 

Job Duties/Functions:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for software architectures for electronic warfare applications.
  • Define and document software requirements, interfaces, and end-item specifications that are scalable and modular to support changes in operational environments and pace technology.
  • Oversee vendor software development activities, ensuring compliance with Government requirements and specifications.
  • Advocate best practices in software architecture, security, and performance to support Army Development, Security, Operations (DevSecOps) policies.
  • Identify and document system and software requirements to enhance system functionality, performance, and cybersecurity.
  • Provide technical oversight across the full software development lifecycle, from initial concept and architecture to deployment, ensuring scalable, high-performance, and maintainable software solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (ex. Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software or Systems Engineering).
  • United States Citizen with a current DoD Top Secret security clearance and SCI eligibility.
  • Experience with Army or DoD software principles and practices.
  • Experience defining software and hardware interface requirements for complex subsystem and system-level architectures.
  • Experience supporting engineering reviews to include preliminary and critical design reviews.
  • Experience with Agile software development principles and practices, as applied to Army or DoD software programs.
  • Ability to lead software Integrated Product Teams in a dynamic development environment across geographically dispersed locations.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience providing engineering services supporting Army or DoD acquisition organizations.
  • Experience supporting contractor and Government test events (e.g. developmental testing, operational testing, software testing, etc.).
  • Experience with software defined radios (SDRs) and radio frequency (RF) technologies.
