Harman Ready Care is at the forefront of automotive in-cabin sensing. Our technology and solutions provide insights regarding driver and occupants in the cabin, powering critical safety applications as well as innovative in-cabin experiences. We are seeking an experienced Software Architect to shepherd our Israeli team toward cutting edge AI sensing technology which is practical and efficient in automotive embedded environments.
About the Role
The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining, designing, and guiding the implementation of complex software architectures that ensure scalability, performance, and compliance with industry standards.
You will play a key role in shaping the company’s software frameworks and development processes, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and innovative Driver and Cabin Monitoring solutions. This includes embedded systems, real-time video processing, and machine learning applications.
What You Will Do
- Define and own the software architecture for embedded and real-time systems, ensuring alignment with product requirements and business goals.
- Lead design reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making across multiple engineering teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders (engineering, QA, product management, and customers) to translate requirements into scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Establish best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines to ensure long-term quality and reusability of code.
- Provide technical mentorship to engineers, guiding them in software design, system integration, and performance optimization.
- Evaluate new technologies, tools, and frameworks to continuously improve system capabilities.
- Ensure compliance with functional safety, security, and regulatory standards relevant to automotive and embedded domains.
- Oversee integration of machine learning and AI components into production systems, ensuring performance and reliability.
What You Need to Be Successful
- + 7 years of software engineering experience - Must.
- Experience in a highly regulated industry such as Automotive, Medical Devices, or Aerospace.
- Proven experience in architecting embedded systems and real-time applications of computer vision on video streams or similar.
- Strong expertise in software design patterns, system architecture, and integration methodologies.
- Experience in writing clear and comprehensive design and architecture documentation, including UML diagrams and related modeling notations.
- Proficiency in C++.
- Hands-on experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools (e.g., DOORS, CodeBeamer).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
- Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Bonus Points if You Have
- Familiarity with functional safety and ASPICE standards.
- Exposure to Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS), ADAS, or Cabin Monitoring domains.
What Makes You Eligible
- This position reports to the director of Harman Ready Care Israel, and may require light travel to meet peer engineering teams in the US, Germany, Poland, Hungary and India.
