Applications engineers for Sitara MPU serve as technical experts on TI’s Sitara family of Processors and its use cases. This function is organized by end equipment and sector to drive a deeper understanding of key Automotive & Industrial markets and enable them to best support our sales team and customers in designing Sitara Processors into their products. Applications engineers will partner with Systems and Marketing teams to deliver system solutions, software, collateral, documentation and tools that accelerate customers' development time and drive design WINs. They also play an important role in ramping new target end-equipment by showcasing the features of Sitara Processor portfolio in a new context or application.
QualificationsJob Description: As a Software Applications Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Developing & supporting differentiated software on the cutting edge latest SoCs.
- Understanding technical requirements, solving complex issues across and ramping customers to production by efficiently planning your and your team’s bandwidth.
- Defining & developing demos to showcase silicon capability & differentiation that helps drive customer engagements.
- Working with leading customers for TI Processors in Automotive ADAS (DOMS, CMS, Front/Rear/Surround View Camera & Radar, IVI, Cluster and Cockpit) & Industrial (HMI, Industrial Automation, Grid Infrastructure, etc.) market segments.
- Creating collateral like Application Notes, White Papers, Academies and Webinars for enabling a broad customer base.
- Key point of contact for TI sales and customers, interacting with Systems, Architecture, Software Development, SoC Design and Verification teams to facilitate efficient and scalable system architectures for customer use-cases.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in ECE or Computer Science.
- Minimum 7+ years industry experience in software development on embedded systems
- Experience in one or more of the following – Linux, RTOS, ADAS & IVI systems.
- Exposure to leadership roles – Technical Lead or Manager
Skills Required
- Strong technical, communication, leadership & management skills along with high level of accountability and curiosity.
- Strong background in software, firmware development & experience in programming languages like C, C++ & Python.
- Ability to clearly communicate (via presentations, email, virtual & in-person meetings, etc.) with customers to understand technical requirements and issues.
- Knowledge of Embedded Systems (MCU, MPU, ARM), Computer Architecture (Cache, DMA, Interconnect) and Operating Systems along with basic communication peripherals (I2C, SPI, UART), Serial Flash, Camera, Display and High Speed Interfaces like Ethernet, USB, PCIe.
- Understanding of Automotive System’s Boot flow and software architecture along with standard OSes, BSP & middleware components like MCALs, AutoSAR, QNX, Android, Linux etc.
- Strongly oriented toward process improvements and agile in achieving success within a constantly evolving environment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities by breaking down complex problems into individual components to debug and correct.
- Ability to leverage generative AI to optimize daily workflows.
