Torch Technologies is seeking a Senior-Level Software Analyst / Engineer to support the development of space command and control systems. The engineer will be part of a team analyzing the performance of the Missile Defense Agency’s Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications – Global (C2BMC-G) system in support of space defense. Testing will be on fielded operational systems and in laboratories with operationally representative hardware and software. Testing will be across the entire space enterprise to include ground, on-orbit, link and other space command and control systems—with analytical focus on C2BMC-G performance in these test / real-world venues.
As a Senior-Level Software Analyst/Engineer your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:
- Developing test analysis and data-collection plans to evaluate C2BMC-G capabilities, limitations, and risks supporting space defense mission threads.
- Providing input to the test design and execution team to ensure the test construct produces data necessary for mission thread analysis.
- Conducting analysis of collected data using validated analytical tools, focusing on the interactions between space sensors, ground equipment, and on-orbit satellites.
- Designing, developing, and maintaining robust automation and data-parsing scripts using Python and Bash to simplify analytical tasks and post-processing pipelines.
- Utilizing JupyterLab (including libraries like Pandas, NumPy, and Matplotlib/Seaborn) to create interactive post-processing notebooks and generate automated analytical plots.
- Manually generating analysis when tools do not exist and submitting tool development requests; validating new tools prior to their inclusion in the analytical toolkit.
- Consolidating analysis from multiple test runs and multiple events to assess C2BMC-G capabilities, limitations, and risks supporting space defense mission threads.
- Preparing and presenting high-quality analytical products to engineering-level audiences for programmatic decision support and to senior leadership at MDA, Space Training and Readiness Command, and U.S. Space Command to inform fielding and operational acceptance decisions.
- Operating within a collaborative environment composed of Government, Prime Contractor, and Supporting Contractor personnel.
- Clearly express technical concepts, operating in a multi-tasking environment, and meeting or exceeding scheduled deadlines.
Required Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship
- Master’s degree in engineering or a related technical field with 8+ years of experience in space system or missile defense system analysis (experience may be in roles with progressively increasing responsibility)
- OR Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical field with 10+ years of experience in space system or missile defense system analysis (experience may be in roles with progressively increasing responsibility)
- Active Top Secret clearance is required to start; must be eligible to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.
- Experience operating in or performing analysis on command and control/battle management systems
- Knowledge of interactions between space sensors, ground equipment, and on-orbit satellites
- Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts, work as part of a team, and succeed in a multi-tasking environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active DoD 8140/8570 IAT Level II compliant certification (e.g., Security+ CE, GSEC)
- Experience using Ansible for configuration management, playbook development, and system deployment automation
- Experience operating within Linux environments and utilizing Git/GitLab for collaborative version control
- Strong proficiency with scripting languages, particularly Python and Bash, for workflow automation and data processing
- Proficiency with computational software (e.g., JupyterLab), databases, and Excel
- Excellent organizational and technical writing skills
- Demonstrated proactive approach to completing responsibilities ahead of schedule

Salary Range: $150,000-$175,000
