Social Media Specialist
As a Social Media Specialist you will report directly to the Director of Strategy and work closely with the creative team. Your role will be varied and may change from day to day. One minute you’ll be curating social feeds; the next you’ll be creating unhinged posts about breadsticks. We’re a small group scattered around the globe and everyone gets their hands dirty. You’ll always be part of a team that has a passion for great work, including creatives, strategists, technologists, and producers who will help you push the work forward.
Location: You’ll work remotely from BC, AB or ON.
What you’ll do
- Curate social feeds to keep a finger on the pulse of what’s trending
- Use those feeds to create social engagement via inbound and outbound engagement
- Understand the brand’s tone of voice to ensure consistency across messaging and channels
- Work closely with internal and external teams to quickly capitalize on real time opportunities
- Lead community management efforts across each day of the week to both grow the brand and foster community
What you’ll need to succeed
- Full understanding of how to use social media platforms and scheduling tools (e.g Sprout, Later, etc.)
- Wholistic understanding of a brand from its offerings to its tone of voice
- Ability to identify and keep up with trends for outbound engagement and real time opportunities for content
- Being able to speak and respond in a brands tone of voice on social media, from professional to ‘unhinged’
- Fostering/maintaining the relationship with client teams to get their buy in on ideas in a timely manner, particularly as it relates to real time opportunities for content
- Ability to measure growth via metrics and identify what they mean and translate that to client
- Experience with community management to foster engagement during the day and on weekends
