Job Description:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work closely with social media manager to develop, schedule and release content on our social channels that is engaging, relevant, and in line with the brand image; posts should be accurate, timely, creative and professional, build customer relationships and increase brand awareness
• Monitor social media across platforms and across agency accounts
• Use social listening tools to help inform content strategies
• Respond to customer service inquiries sent as messages professionally and accurately
• Collaborate with communications team for creative asset development
• Stay up-to-date with new and emerging trends to help keep Nebraska Game and Parks’ social media presence consistently relevant
• Maintain broad awareness of conservation and recreation related information and trends on social media
• Use Adobe Creative Suite in content creation

Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Vocational/Technical diploma or Associates Degree in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, graphic arts, digital media, videography, or related field and at least one year of experience in conducting public relations, information, or graphic art activities. Required experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis.
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, advertising, graphic arts, digital media, videography, or related field and at least one year of experience in coordinating, planning, and managing public relations/publicity campaigns, mass media communication activities and/or public information programs. Required experience may substitute for the education on a year for year basis.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of: best practices of and trends in social media; a strong understanding of social media platforms; Adobe Suite related to graphic design and photo editing (video editing a plus); public information dissemination and its value; journalism or public relations principles and practices.
Ability to: write with attention paid to spelling, punctuation, word usage and grammar; communicate effectively with colleagues and the public, at levels understandable to each audience; evaluate the public information potential of written, illustrative, and related material; develop the information dissemination approach most likely to reach a target audience; organize tasks.
