Social Media Producer

Key Responsibilities:

Content Creation & Publishing:

• Produce, edit, and publish high-quality, platform-native content (video, graphics, copy) across Asharq's social channels (Instagram, X, TikTok, Snapchat, Facebook, YouTube).
• Repurpose broadcast, digital, and wire content into fast-turnaround social formats, including breaking news alerts.
• Write sharp, accurate Arabic captions and headlines optimized for engagement, clarity, and each platform's algorithm and audience behavior.
• Monitor live news developments and coordinate with the newsroom and editorial desks to ensure timely, accurate, and on-brand publishing during breaking and rolling news.
• Collaborate closely with video editors, motion graphics designers, and journalists to produce short-form video (reels/shorts) and visual storytelling assets.
• Own and manage the social publishing calendar, ensuring consistent cadence, platform balance, and alignment with editorial priorities.
• Track content performance (reach, engagement, watch time, follower growth) and translate insights into actionable content recommendations.
• Ensure all published content adheres to Asharq's editorial standards, brand guidelines, and each platform's community and content policies.
• Support live coverage of major news events and breaking stories, including flexibility for rotating shifts in a 24/7 newsroom environment.
• Stay ahead of social media trends, emerging formats, and platform algorithm changes, and proactively recommend how Asharq can adapt.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Media, Communications, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in social media production or content creation, specifically in news and political content, preferably within a news or media organization.
• Native or fluent Arabic, with strong working proficiency in English.
• Hands-on experience in video editing using relevant production tools, as well as design tools such as Canva.
• Good understanding of social media algorithms, content formats, and best practices across Instagram, X, TikTok, Snapchat, and YouTube.
• Strong news judgment and a clear understanding of editorial and accuracy standards in a newsroom environment.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to a fast-paced, 24/7 news environment, including shift-based schedules.
• Excellent Arabic writing and storytelling skills tailored to social media platforms.
• Familiarity with social media management and analytics tools, including native platform insights, is a plus.
