Job discovery is broken. Indeed and LinkedIn want to keep it that way. Join our team and help millions of people put food on the table by finding the perfect job.
HiringCafe is building a 100× better job search engine: fast, comprehensive, honest, and actually useful. We index millions of jobs, remove noise, rank what matters, and help people find real opportunities without dark patterns, ads, or pay-to-win placement.
We are funded by top tier investors in Silicon Valley, along with angel investments from former leadership and directors at Indeed and ZipRecruiter. In 12 months, we grew from 0 to 1 million+ monthly active users, all with a $0 marketing budget. Our 110K+ member community at r/hiringcafe is where our most enthusiastic users talk to us, and to each other, every day.
We got here without a marketing team. Now we want one person to show what happens when someone actually tries.

This is our first dedicated marketing hire, and we would be looking to you to figure out clever and scrappy ways to get the word out about HiringCafe on a tight budget. Nobody will hand you a content calendar, a brand book, or an agency to brief. You will get to represent a not-very-well-known product that a small community of users really love, and will give you the freedom to be bold and try things.
This is not a traditional social media manager job. If your best work has been scheduling approved posts for a major brand or juggling client accounts at an agency, this probably isn't the right fit. If you have bootstrapped a social media following from nothing, and you have made things on your phone that strangers shared, and you would rather post, learn, and adjust than wait for sign-off, then you’re probably a good fit.
You will work directly with the founders, and what you make will reach real job seekers struggling to find a better solution than the big job board that are more motivated by profits than by people.
What you'll doMake the content. Concept, script, shoot, edit, and post a steady stream of original content on Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and LinkedIn, built for what each platform actually rewards.
Run our creator program. Find, brief, and manage outside influencers and creators producing sponsored content about HiringCafe. Track what each one delivers and put more behind the ones that work.
Take big swings. Develop and execute viral video concepts, UGC campaigns, contests, and ideas nobody has tried yet to get HiringCafe in front of new people.
Show up in r/hiringcafe. Engage with our most enthusiastic users in our 110K+ member Reddit community, and turn their stories, feedback, and wins into content.
Measure and iterate. Watch what performs, tell us what you learned in plain numbers, double down on winners, and kill what isn't working.
Partner with our engineers to build new tools and functionality in the product that support and amplify our social media efforts.
1 to 4 years making content or running social for a startup, a creator, a brand, or your own audience. Proof beats pedigree: show us accounts you grew or posts that gained broad engagement.
You make things yourself. You can take an idea from a blank page to a published video on your own: hook, script, filming, editing, caption.
You live on these platforms. You know what's native to TikTok versus Instagram versus YouTube, and you know why brands get roasted on Reddit and how not to be one of them.
You run without a manager. You turn a broad goal into ideas, experiments, and results without waiting for instructions, and you ask for help when you need it.
You move fast. You'd rather publish ten ideas to find the one that takes off than spend two weeks debating a single post.
You care whether it worked. You make decisions from views, shares, and signups, not vibes.
You're ambitious. You want to prove you can build an audience from the ground up, and you want your name on it.
You've managed paid creator or influencer partnerships and know how to navigate this notoriously hit-or-miss channel
You have your own account with real traction, or you've gone viral more than once
You've worked at an early-stage startup
You're comfortable on camera, and good at getting other people on camera
You've been through a rough job search yourself and have opinions about it
Full-time; Contract-to-hire. We are a small team, and we are eager to hire A-list talent, but we want to see in your first 30-60 days that you can make a real impact.
On-site at our Cupertino, CA office. Open to remote/hybrid for experienced candidates.
Compensation: $80-185k/year + equity
