Social Media Graphic Design Intern for Beauty Tech Startup

BBY is a mobile app helping independent beauty professionals run their businesses – bookings, payments, and digital storefronts, all in one link.
We’re a fast-growing startup based in Provo, UT, and we’re looking for a Social Media Graphic Design Intern to join us in person and help elevate BBY’s presence across TikTok, Instagram, and Pinterest.
This is a part-time, paid internship (15–20 hours/week) with the option to extend through next summer based on performance and fit.
Role Overview
As our Graphic Design Intern, you’ll work directly with the founding team in our Provo office to help define and evolve BBY’s visual brand. You’ll be creating digital content that adds value to our target market, builds our social media presence, and helps convert viewers into users. From campaign launches to product drops, you’ll have a direct hand in shaping how the world sees and engages with BBY.
You’ll also collaborate closely with our content strategy intern, who handles ideation, captions, and trend research, so that your visuals always work hand-in-hand.

We’re a small team building fast – testing ideas daily, shipping updates weekly, and constantly iterating. No two weeks look the same. If you like structure and slow processes, this probably isn’t the place for you. But if you’re adaptable, self-motivated, and excited to learn quickly, you’ll thrive here.
We care more about creativity and execution than resumes. We’ll give you a lot of ownership, ask you to figure things out, and expect your ideas to shape what BBY looks and feels like. You’ll be working directly with the founding team and your work will go live almost immediately.
It’s fast, hands-on, and a little chaotic haha. But also fun, collaborative, and deeply rewarding.
What You'll Do
Design digital content weekly using Canva and/or Figma
Build reusable templates for product updates, testimonials, and campaigns
Create visuals that provide value, grow our audience, and drive conversions
Support BBY’s look and feel across TikTok, Instagram, and Pinterest
Work with the content intern to align on ideas, captions, and strategy
What We’re Looking For
Self-motivated and able to manage your own timelines
Strong skills with Canva and Figma
A sharp eye for layout, color, and aesthetics
Knowledge of Gen Z design trends, beauty, or the creator space
Excited to work in a fast-paced startup environment where you’ll learn a lot quickly
Skills & Tools
Canva (required) – designing clean, modern social media graphics
Figma (required) – creating layouts, templates, and reusable assets
Visual design – strong understanding of layout, color, and typography
Social media awareness – what performs well on IG, TikTok, Pinterest
Creative direction – ability to translate a brand into consistent, aesthetic content
Startup mindset – self-starter, fast-moving, open to feedback, always iterating
Portfolio or Creative Challenge
