The Role

Objective

To support in crafting engaging and consistent copy for their social media and email marketing efforts, ensuring high-quality, creative, and brand-aligned messaging that drives engagement and brand growth.

Profile Overview

Our client, a New York City-based beverage company known for its product, a versatile zesty wine-based Meyer lemon aperitif, seeks a talented Social Media and Email Copywriter. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in B2C content creation, particularly in the food and beverage space, with a focus on crafting engaging, consumer-facing social media posts and email campaigns. This role requires an ability to translate brand values into compelling narratives that resonate with both existing and potential customers.

Scope

  • Commitment: approximately 10 hours per month
  • Duration: 6 to 12 months (with potential for extension based on performance and needs).

Responsibilities

  • Write creative, on-brand copy for Instagram posts, captions, and stories to drive engagement and reach.
  • Develop compelling email content for 4-6 campaigns per month, aligning with our client's promotional and engagement goals.
  • Use provided prompts and brand guidelines to craft copy that maintains consistency with our client's voice.
  • Collaborate with the internal team by attending brainstorming sessions (as needed) and participating in feedback loops.
  • Adapt messaging to achieve two primary objectives: audience engagement and brand reach.
  • Review social media performance and adjust copywriting strategies to enhance engagement, leveraging data insights where possible.
  • Ensure all copy is free of errors and typos and adheres to brand standards.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven experience in social media and email copywriting for consumer-facing brands, ideally in the food/beverage or lifestyle industries.
  • Strong familiarity with Instagram and other social media platforms.
  • Creative and adaptable writing style tailored to B2C audiences.
  • Ability to incorporate brand tone and voice into all communications.
  • Understanding of social media trends and how to integrate them into creative content.
  • Bonus: Familiarity with consumer behavior and engagement strategies for food and beverage products.
  • Soft Skills: Collaborative, reliable, creative, proactive, and consistent in communication and delivery.

Their flagship product is a Meyer lemon apéritif that has been featured in The New York Times, Eater, Hudson Valley Magazine, VinePair, The Michelin Guide, and more. It is a wine-based aperitif that is great in cocktails but where it really shines is in a spritz. They are a growing brand based in New York. It is distributed online in nearly 35 states and in retail stores around the New York City area.
