Description
SCT is seeking a Social Marketing/Communications Specialist with at least five years of experience to provide strategic communications, social marketing, and outreach support to the Headquarters, Department of the Army (HQDA) G-1 Directorate of Prevention, Resilience and Readiness (DPRR) for the purpose of increasing the physical and psychological health, resilience, readiness, and performance of Soldiers, Families, and Department of the Army (DA) Civilians.
Social marketing campaigns are intended to influence the target audience’s behavior toward the general good, in this case, personal resilience and well-being. We seek expertise in the development and execution of the DPRR’s Bi-Monthly Newsletter, in support of disseminating DPRR messaging down to the tactical level of the Army.
Duties
- Support the development and execution of communication, social marketing, awareness, and outreach materials for DPRR to ensure strategic messaging reaches intended audiences, achieves required frequency, and delivers desired outcomes.
- Oversee the development of DPRR’s Bi-Monthly Newsletter (usually 12 – 16 pages):
- Track all deadlines, submissions and sources.
- Coordinate with graphic designer and editors on layout for the newsletter.
- Write articles as needed.
- Serve as Strategic Communications/Marketing subject matter expert for the client.
- Work with team members to prepare deliverables, including project briefings, newsletter, study findings, reports, conclusions, and recommendations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of experience in social marketing campaigns (preferably including topics such as suicide prevention, sexual assault prevention, substance abuse prevention, and tobacco cessation) or communications, public affairs, social media, or public relations.
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mass communication, marketing, advertising, public relations, health communications, or journalism.
- Well-versed in the stages of social marketing and benchmark criteria.
- Army/DoW experience a plus.
Specific Skillsets
- Project management and/or news experience.
- Familiarity with AP Style.
- U.S. Citizen (required by contract).
- Experience working on a federal contract (preferred).
- Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, SharePoint, and Zoom.
- Strong work ethic with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Self-starter with demonstrated leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Ability to interact professionally with clients.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- May require the ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.
Salary: $95k-$112k
