Multiplier is building the world's leading Global Human Platform — enabling companies to hire, onboard, manage, and pay talent across 150+ countries.

From global payroll and compliance to benefits and financial workflows, our platform simplifies complex international employment infrastructure so businesses can scale without borders.

As we evolve from a centralised studio model into embedded domain expertise across tribes (Core Payroll, Experience, FinX, Foundations, Benefits), our design system becomes the shared language that keeps quality consistent as the portfolio grows. This is where you come in.

Our design system has reached an important milestone. It provides the foundations for consistency across our products, but the next phase is fundamentally different.

As our product portfolio grows and AI changes how software is designed and built, our design system must evolve from a library of components into an intelligent platform that enables designers, engineers, and AI to build consistent experiences together.

As Senior Product Designer for Design Systems, you will own that evolution. You will establish the design system as the single source of truth for product quality, accessibility, interaction patterns, and AI-assisted product creation. Rather than maintaining components, you'll create the infrastructure that allows product teams to move faster without sacrificing quality.

We're not hiring someone to maintain components. We're hiring someone to build the operating system for product design.

You'll own the evolution of our design system across three horizons.

Horizon One — Build Confidence: Improve quality and consistency, raise accessibility, improve documentation, reduce visual debt, increase adoption, and create governance.

Horizon Two — Build Capability: Develop richer composite patterns, design complex workflows, create foundations for enterprise products, build tooling for designers and engineers, measure system health, and improve release management.

Horizon Three — Build Intelligence: Transform the design system into structured knowledge — enabling AI-assisted concept generation, machine-readable component metadata, semantic pattern definitions, automated prototype generation, conversational interfaces, and a clear definition of how AI consumes product knowledge.

This is an opportunity to shape what an AI-native design system looks like.

• Define the long-term vision for our design system.

• Co-create a roadmap balancing product delivery with platform investment.

• Develop governance and contribution models.

• Partner with Design, Engineering, and Product leadership.

• Define success metrics for adoption, quality, and system health.

You ensure the system evolves as strategic infrastructure, not a static asset.

• Develop scalable foundations and reusable primitives.

• Improve token architecture and define clear component APIs.

• Develop composite patterns that represent complete workflows.

• Improve responsive behaviour across surfaces.

• Support multiple product experiences from shared foundations.

You build the primitives that everything else composes from.

• Increase consistency across products and reduce design debt.

• Champion accessibility as a measurable, improving standard (WCAG).

• Improve interaction quality across flows and edge cases.

• Develop review processes and establish quality benchmarks.

You make quality the default, not the exception.

• Document not only what components are, but why they exist.

• Capture intent, behaviour, and implementation guidance.

• Support onboarding so the system is easy to adopt.

• Make documentation a trusted product resource for designers and engineers alike.

You turn the system into knowledge people reach for.

• Structure documentation for machine consumption.

• Develop metadata models and semantic component relationships.

• Design prompt-ready documentation that enables automated UI generation.

• Partner with engineering on AI tooling and evaluate emerging technologies.

You define how AI consumes product knowledge — and composes with it.

• Partner with engineers and support product designers.

• Coach contributors and run design reviews.

• Improve adoption and influence roadmaps across tribes.

You build durable capability across the org, not just deliverables.

Within twelve months:

• Design system adoption increases significantly.

• Own the vision, roadmap, and governance for the design system.

• Own token architecture, primitives, component APIs, and composite patterns.

• Set quality and accessibility benchmarks across products.

• Own the system's documentation and AI-readiness model.

• Coach contributors and raise the contribution bar across tribes.

• Partner with Design, Engineering, and Product leadership on adoption and roadmap.

Your influence extends beyond features to the shared language every tribe builds with.

Success isn't measured by the number of components created. It's measured by the quality, speed, and confidence with which products are built.

• 5–8+ years designing complex digital products, with experience building or evolving mature design systems.

• Fluent across visual design, interaction design, and front-end implementation.

• Have partnered closely with engineering and enjoy solving platform problems.

• Care deeply about accessibility.

• Experienced with: Design Tokens, Figma Variables, Component APIs, Storybook, React implementation, Accessibility (WCAG), documentation systems, and design operations.

• Familiar with AI-assisted design workflows. Prompt engineering for UI generation and Model Context Protocol (MCP) or similar AI integration patterns are desirable.

The design system will become the shared language between designers, engineers, and AI. You won't be maintaining a component library — you'll be building the knowledge layer that powers the next generation of AI-assisted product development at Multiplier.
