We are looking for an experienced Snowflake Administrator with 5+ years of hands-on experience in administering, monitoring, securing, and optimizing enterprise Snowflake environments.
The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Snowflake administration, performance tuning, security, access management, data warehousing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and cloud platforms. The candidate will work closely with Data Engineering, DevOps, Security, and Application teams to ensure the Snowflake platform is secure, reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient.
RequirementsKey Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain enterprise Snowflake environments across development, testing, staging, and production.
- Manage users, roles, privileges, warehouses, databases, schemas, and objects.
- Implement and maintain Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and security policies.
- Monitor Snowflake performance, query execution, warehouse utilization, and resource consumption.
- Perform query optimization and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks.
- Configure and manage virtual warehouses, auto-suspend, auto-resume, scaling, and resource monitors.
- Monitor and optimize Snowflake credit consumption and overall platform costs.
- Implement data security features such as masking policies, row access policies, encryption, and secure data sharing.
- Manage Snowflake integrations with cloud platforms and external data sources.
- Support data loading and ingestion using Snowpipe, stages, file formats, and COPY commands.
- Work with Snowflake features including Time Travel, Zero-Copy Cloning, Streams, Tasks, and Secure Data Sharing.
- Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
- Monitor system health, failed queries, data-load failures, and operational alerts.
- Support backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery requirements.
- Maintain audit logs and ensure compliance with organizational security policies.
- Automate administrative activities using SQL, Python, Shell scripting, or Terraform.
- Support CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code practices for Snowflake deployments.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers and Architects on schema design and data-platform improvements.
- Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, operational procedures, and configuration standards.
