Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for following diets as prescribed and serving food to the residents in the Health Care Center and maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the health care center kitchens and dining rooms.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(Other duties may be assigned.)
§ Sets dining room tables for meal service with correct place settings.
§ Prepare beverage cart for meal service and refill after each meal service
§ Transport meals and supplies to the dining room.
§ Organizes and stocks supplies in the kitchens following rotation procedure.
§ Keeps refrigerator clean and stocked; covers foods, dates, labels and rotates daily.
§ Maintains all equipment and storage areas in a clean neat and orderly fashion.
§ Reads diet cards and menu to ensure that correct diet and food size portion is served to each resident.
§ Check and record food temperatures and serves foods at safe required temperatures.
§ Maintain daily log of meal service problems and food temperatures.
§ Perform food preparation tasks as specified by Dietary Manager to comply with special dietary requirements of residents.
§ Inform the Dietary Manager of meal or food problems.
§ Collect and stack dirty dishes on cart and returns cart to kitchen.
§ Collect and places garbage and trash in designated containers
§ Assure that established infection control and universal precautions are maintained when performing duties.
§ Check cleaning schedule. Sign and date daily.
§ Distribute snacks at scheduled times.
§ Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills Required
- Follow prescribed resident diets and serve correct portions
- Read diet cards and menus to ensure correct diet and portion sizes
- Check, record, and maintain safe food temperatures
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchens, refrigerators, equipment, and dining rooms
- Prepare beverage cart and distribute snacks at scheduled times
- Transport meals and supplies to dining areas and collect dirty dishes
- Organize and stock supplies, follow rotation and labeling procedures
- Perform food preparation tasks as specified by Dietary Manager
- Follow infection control and universal precautions when performing duties
- Document daily meal service issues and sign cleaning schedules
