As an SMT Engineer, you will lead daily SMT manufacturing operations including process and procedure improvement activities. Utilize SMT machines to place surface mount parts and solder reflow the devices to printed circuit boards. Responsible for the set-up of all pieces of equipment on the SMT line, including the screen printer, the pick and place machines and the reflow oven. Potential for further expansion and growth within the SMT Team.

  • Selection of SMT/SMD equipment and optimization of equipment set up and programming sequences.
  • Operation of SMT equipment in support on production and process development.
  • Design of optimum production processes such as solder paste selection, reflow profiles, stencil designs, component feeder set up methodology, and selective soldering techniques.
  • Process and capacity utilization strategies for SMT assembly operations.

  • A Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and minimum 4 years appropriate work experience; or Associates degree in engineering discipline and a minimum or 6 years appropriate work experience; or a minimum of 10 years relevant work experience; or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge with surface mount and through-hole technologies.
  • Must be familiar with IPC/EIA J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610.
  • Working knowledge of all SMT assembly and inspection processes.
  • Working knowledge of printed circuit board CAD data and assembly equipment programming software, and databases.

  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment with Contract Manufacturing preferred.
