The AM Software Engineering should be a highly skilled, self-driven technical SME having an immense understanding and relevant experience in the Java eco-system. On top of this pre-requisite, a good exposure to UI/UX development would be an added advantage. The resource would grasp the requirements and help in swiftly churning those into piecemeal feature implementations applicable to various product lines in the life and annuity insurance domain / policy administration system.
The resource would be involved in all the aspects of analysis, design, implementation, and deployment of all software related to the core insurance operations. The role will also involve design and development of cloud native solutions using the latest and greatest technological stack. The role will be a part of our global team of developers.
S/he would serve as a subject matter expert and liaison between technical, business, and management personnel. S/he would collaborate with multiple counterparts to deliver the objectives; and facilitate in the adoption of value-added solutions.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Develop and analyze functional specifications, and coordinate with developers across geographies to build and implement technology solutions
2. Hands-on experience in software development and the ability to manage complex programs is a necessity for this role
3. Integrate multiple systems and reconcile different teams’ needs and plans and oversee projects including an upgrade
4. Advise and provide technical training, remain aware of the latest technology trends and developments, and make cost and time effective logical recommendations
5. Effectively communicate with multiple stakeholders to understand their expectations and strive to achieve desired results
6. Ability to liaise with people from different backgrounds like designers, business analysts, leadership, et al. to ensure that the project meets the needs of the organization/customer and the people who would be using it
7. Gather feedback from end-users about the system performance and troubleshoot issues that may arise
8. Work closely with the team to grasp the features, job language and internal system functionality, in order to assist in defining solutions that meet the business stakeholder’s needs
9. Coordinate on information technology discussions and updates; provide project team member guidance/support throughout the release lifecycle. Provide work guidance and mentoring to less experienced personnel
10. Provide estimates, along with good exposure to Agile/JIRA, RESTful and DevOps concepts
Technical Proficiency:
1. Substantial experience in design and development of enterprise-wide application in Java technology and hands-on experience with core Java technologies
2. Development experience using spring framework and proven hands-on experience in IT development with Java programming language
3. UI/UX development experience, leveraging HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, Angular JS, React, Responsive Web Design
4. DevOps experience with tools such as Git/GitHub, Jenkins, and Groovy and Shell scripting
5. Experience with Cloud technologies, preferably AWS
Basic Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related fields and proven experience in a similar role
2. Nine (or) more years of relevant programming, technical and architectural experience in the Java eco-system
3. Experience working and interfacing with the business community and functional groups within / outside the organization
4. Knowledgeable about Life insurance and Annuity domain, Microsoft Office tools, SharePoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.

Skills Required
