The Business Consulting Director will lead and direct complex IT projects and cross-functional teams utilizing business and technical process improvement methodology on projects and initiatives meant to achieve strategic and operational goals for CNA's Small Commercial Business Unit. This individual will participate in the planning of strategic direction and develop initiatives in support of that direction. They will manage relationships and act as liaison between the development teams, client organizations, and other stakeholders throughout the project cycle.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines:
Designs and executes project plans in conjunction with senior management.
Manages the end to end project lifecycle for all project teams.
Leads teams in developing tactical strategies to achieve corporate goals.
Ensures that the objectives of the teams are consistent with corporate goals and strategy.
Provides long-term focus for the projects being analyzed and reviewed by the project teams.
Coaches and directs team members regarding the use of continuous improvement process techniques that can lead to business opportunities.
Analyzes data from projects, updates management with progress and makes recommendations based upon team's findings.
Liaises with internal stakeholders to build collaboration and ensure operational activities align with business goals and strategies.
May perform additional duties as assigned.
Stays current on trends and developments in functional area of expertise and the insurance industry.

1. Senior level knowledge in consulting and process improvement principles in area of discipline.
2. Ability to manage a team through the use of group dynamics while encouraging creativity andinnovation.
3. Strong communication and presentation skills both verbal and written, including the ability to
communicate business and technical information clearly.
4. Excellent project management, organizing and planning skills.
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software, Atlassian experience preferred.
6. Must be results-oriented and able to problem solve and work well independently and/or in a team environment.
7. Stays informed on relevant insurance industry trends.
8. Uses Metrics and information analysis and accesses technology resources as needed.
9. Builds a competitive organization by attracting, managing, developing and retaining the talent needed to win.
10. Value driven to provide superior solutions to internal and/or external customers.
11. Acts with a sense of urgency to advance priorities of the organization.
12. Helps others to excel through collaboration and building strong relationships.

Education & Experience
1. Bachelor's Degree in business, operations management, or industrial engineering or related field.
2. Typically a minimum of nine years' experience required including managing large projects.

I n certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In District of Columbia , California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois , Maryland , Massachusetts , New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $97,000 to $189,000 annually.Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
