Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a SLS Core Stage Senior Deputy Program Manager (Level M)to join the Space Launch Systems (SLS) Program Management team in New Orleans, LA, or Kennedy Space Center, FL!
This position includes responsibilities to ensure the SLS Core Stages meet NASA mission needs, including production contracts, program execution, customer relationship management, and award fee management.
This position is accountable to the SLS Core Stage Program Manager.
Responsible for the high standards required to sustain a NASA launch program and accountable for implementation and execution of the program's performance management system, including baseline and change management, risk/issue/opportunity management, market-based affordability, program operating rhythm and root cause corrective actions and recovery planning.
Position Responsibilities:
  • This position is accountable to the Space Intelligence and Weapons
    Systems Division and the Space Launch System Program.
  • This position includes responsibilities to ensure the SLS Core Stages meet NASA mission needs, including production contracts, program execution, customer relationship management, and award fee management.
  • Responsible for the high standards required to sustain a NASA launch program and accountable for implementation and execution of the program's performance management system, including baseline and change management, risk/issue/opportunity management, market-based affordability, program operating rhythm and root cause corrective actions and recovery planning.
  • Significant NASA customer experience with direct and measurable impact on program performance, results and profit.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.
This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Minimum 5 years of Experience with NASA Space programs or a related Space or Defense program
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Development programs that are transitioning to Production
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading a team and/or large project in an Integrated Product Team (IPT) environment

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher
  • Experience in using Boeing Program Management Best Practices (PMBP) and processes and methods
  • Strong customer and supplier relationships
  • Champion of program management best practices and the standard gated process
  • Effective performance metrics to track program level progress in technical, cost, and schedule requirements
  • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems
  • Collaboration and integration across organizational boundaries

Summary pay range: $204,000 - $276,000
