SleepTales Writer (Contract)

We’re the creator of BetterSleep: the app that has helped more than 65 million people sleep and feel better across the globe. The app features a tool to track and record your sleep, over 100 ambient sounds, relaxing music, guided meditations and sleep stories, available in over six different languages! Our mission is to help people change their lives with a better night's sleep. 

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a talented SleepTales Writer to create calming bedtime stories designed to help our users unwind and fall asleep. The ideal candidate should have a passion for storytelling, an exceptional ability to craft soothing narratives, and an understanding of how to use language to relax the mind and body.

Responsibilities

• Write original SleepTales, ranging between 3000 and 5000 words, designed to promote relaxation and sleep.
• Develop imaginative, slow-paced narratives with descriptive, calming language.
• Collaborate with the content team to align stories with thematic or seasonal campaigns.
• Revise and refine drafts based on feedback to meet tone and style guidelines.
• Research techniques and themes to ensure stories effectively aid relaxation and sleep.

• Studies in creative writing, English, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Professional experience in writing fiction or storytelling (portfolio or samples required).
• Strong grasp of grammar, spelling, and English communication.
• Ability to craft engaging yet relaxing stories with vivid descriptions and a slow pace.
• Flexibility to adapt to our brand voice and style.
• Experience in mindfulness, sleep, or relaxation content is a plus.
• Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

$0.13 per word, based on experience, expertise, and the scope of the project.
