This is a DoW SkillBridge opportunity offered through TalentBase’s approved Veterans CareerBridge third-party provider training program in partnership with Matter Labs/DarkMatter. This opportunity is open to eligible transitioning active-duty service members who have command approval to participate in SkillBridge.
Matter Labs/DarkMatter is seeking a Dual-Use Subject Matter Expert to support its dual-use technology investment and accelerator platform. This role provides hands-on exposure to evaluating emerging technologies with both commercial and government/defense applications, supporting early-stage companies, and advising on technical feasibility, scalability, integration risk, and transition pathways.
The participant will work closely with internal leadership, industry stakeholders, and partners to bring a technical and mission-aware perspective to investment, accelerator, and growth decisions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Review and assess technical aspects of early-stage dual-use technologies
- Evaluate maturity, feasibility, integration risk, and scalability
- Provide technical input to internal reviews and accelerator decisions
- Identify commercial and government use cases for emerging technologies
- Help connect technical, mission, and market considerations
- Support translation of technical capabilities into real-world applications
- Participate in technical discussions with industry and innovation partners
- Provide feedback on product direction and technical roadmaps
- Support accelerator programming, reviews, and advisory sessions
- Engage with industry, government, and innovation partners as appropriate
- Contribute to broader discussions on technology transition and adoption
