At AirTrunk, we’ve all come together to deliver data centres that meet and grow with the needs of our large cloud, content, and enterprise customers.
As a Site Selection & Acquisition Manager, you will report to the Site Selection Acquisition Director and work closely with the rest of the Technology team, making your mark in a number of ways:
  • You will work with the team to guide the expansion of AirTrunk facilities and services in new and existing countries throughout APAC and Japan.
  • You will carry out market analysis to identify opportunities and site selection expansion potential.
  • You will interface with customers, government entities, and private developers in the search for and assessment of new locations and the development of business opportunities.
  • You will manage and coordinate a team of stakeholders to assess and draw conclusions from a wide range of real estate, engineering, construction, policy, planning, and business development considerations such as natural hazards, man-made risks, energy requirements, network connectivity, utility availability, land use, zoning, permitting, environmental and social impacts, design, demand, and incentives.
Your Day to Day
  • Manage a team of engineers, consultants, and real estate professionals to carry out site selection due diligence and feasibility initiatives.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to identify business development and planning opportunities.
  • Carry out market analysis/opportunity mapping to identify real estate/site selection opportunities across the APAC region.
  • Support the Site Selection Acquisition Director in preparing necessary materials and collecting market information to negotiate with landlords and brokers for potential deals.
  • Review and facilitate contracts, non-disclosure agreements, letters of engagement, lease agreements, sales and purchase agreements, and other related documents for site selection.
  • Work closely with the Business Development team on the cash flow model for the project.
  • Manage the site selection due diligence budget.
  • Evaluate management systems, current practices, and site conditions relative to risk appetite, enhancing understanding of exposures and guiding the implementation of processes to meet AirTrunk’s expansion.
  • Work with the Technology team to carry out due diligence and produce consultants’ briefs to develop designs from the feasibility stage onwards, ensuring continuity of design philosophy and approach.
  • Work closely with the Data Analyst using Google Analytics to map potential sites and customers’ AZs.
  • Consolidate, quantify, and compare inputs; evaluate costs, design/build risks, and schedule implications; and select regions and sites for development.
  • Represent the Site Selection team in project meetings and work cross-functionally to advance real estate deals.
  • Support the Site Selection Acquisition Director in preparing presentation materials to provide routine updates to leadership regarding progress and roadblocks in acquiring or closing real estate deals.
Requirements
  • You have 5+ years of experience in the real estate/project management sector, preferably with a background in the industrial/data centre sector.
  • You have strong teamwork skills.
  • Strong quantitative skills are a plus.
