SUMMARY

Manage safety coordinators across several small install sites or larger sites. Coordinate day-to-day activity of the team members in close coordination with the operations team on site(s) as well as the CFA Safety Manager. Manage routine and complex administrative, technical and professional work in analyzing and administering various components of the environmental, health and safety programs during installation.  Responsible for implementation of all safety programs in all aspects for CFA business units. Provides reports to site and safety leadership as needed.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Leadership

  • Insure that the CFA safety program is followed on assigned sites and drives efforts to address site specific needs and corrective actions
  • Increase health and safety awareness at all levels within the company.
  • Respond to employees’ safety concerns.
  • Work with contractors to evaluate overall safety and work with upper management to drive positive changes toward the overall improvement of the safety culture.
  • Act as liaison with all related customer personnel and key contracted personnel.
  • Lead assigned Safety Coordinators and contractor safety personnel– set goals, monitor performance, provide training, coaching and counseling as needed.

Management

  • Identify and mitigate hazards at assigned job sites and continuously monitor hazards and risks on site.
  • Ensure timely and accurate investigation, reporting and preventive actions for accidents/incidents occurring to MMUSA personnel, contractors and visitors at MMUSA or customer sites.
  • Conduct safety meetings, one on ones, manager updates and other safety related meetings
  • Assist in the development, review and update of the installation site safety plan and manage the upkeep of those documents and verify that that they comply with customer and internal expectations.
  • Audit the safety programs of contractors and work with them to bring them into alignment with our program as well as the program of our customers.
  • Ensure all required site-specific safety training is completed by personnel who will work at sites (i.e. Murata Machinery USA (MMUSA) and customer locations).  Training includes, but is not limited to, first aid, CPR, accident prevention and investigation, workplace inspections and other matters related to implementing safety procedures.
  • Arrange for health and safety testing and/or evaluations of the workplace by external agencies and consultants as may be necessary.
  • Liaise with the customer regarding emergency procedures, communications and safety education programs.

Safety Program

  • Develop, implement and monitor (MMUSA) health and safety policies, programs and procedures.
  • Effectively analyze various working situations and effectively perform risk assessment and implement measures to mitigate those risks.
  • Ensure safety inspections are completed at any facility where MMUSA CFA personnel are present.
  • Develop customer specific safety program adaptations to meet customer expectations and incorporate them into our program as appropriate.

Creates KPI data for sites and reports our KPI’s versus internal targets and addresses any areas of underperformance.

 

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in safety management, Technical Discipline or equivalent education is preferred.  Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working in safety preferably in a cleanroom environment.  Previous experience in construction safety management or related industry his highly preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret customer requirements and specifications. Ability to write reports and to effectively present information to customers and company management.    

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.  Excellent technical, financial, organizational, and "process flow" analytical ability.    

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Familiarity with Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS). Understanding of Electro/mechanical. Equipment.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Communication and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated, adaptable to change and flexible regarding work schedule.   Ability to handle stressful situations in a professional manner. Strong operational leadership and customer/contractor management skills.

TRAVEL

Must be willing and able to travel up to 50% domestic and international. Excellent driving skills and clean driving record are required. Some assignments may have limited travel due to size/duration of the project.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently work in a semiconductor clean room environment and occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The employee will also actively work in a construction environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Skills Required
