Responsibilities
- Monitor production systems to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability
- Respond to and resolve incidents promptly
- Automate routine operational tasks, deployments, and infrastructure maintenance.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and work with engineering teams to optimize application and infrastructure performance.
- Participate in capacity planning and system scaling strategies.
- Ensure systems are secure by design and work closely with internal teams to address vulnerabilities and enforce best practices.
- Collaborate with DevOps and Engineering teams to improve system architecture and deployment pipelines.
- Document processes, runbooks, and best practices for knowledge sharing and operational continuity.
Required Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux system administration, preferably RHEL or Rocky Linux.
- Experience working in production environments with a focus on reliability and incident response.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to troubleshoot complex system issues.
- In-depth experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and services, including, but not limited to, EC2, ECS, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch, Athena, and Systems Manager.
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical teams and clients.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks in a fast-paced Agile environment
Preferred Experience
- AWS SysOps Associate certification.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and Git-based workflows.
- Experience using Terraform (ability to read and interpret code).
- Experience using Ansible for configuration management.
- Basic scripting skills in Python or other scripting languages.
