Partner with the best

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal reliability and availability of Akamai's critical security products. This includes continuously improving monitoring, alerting, and log aggregation processes. You'll design and develop tools to enhance these capabilities while collaborating with cutting-edge technologies such as Kubernetes, Kafka, ClickHouse, and third-party clouds.

As a Site Reliability Engineer II, you will be responsible for:

  • Deploying and maintaining our observability platform and internal tooling
  • Partnering across teams to ensure the reliability, scalability and usability of our products and services
  • Providing guidance to engineers and developers to increase confidence that their services are performing as expected
  • Collaborating with our support, operations, and engineering teams to investigate and troubleshoot complex problems
  • Improving monitoring and analysis platforms to ensure rapid error detection and remediation, including developing automated remediation
  • Participating in on-call rotations, guiding restoration and repair of service-impacting issues

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent
  • Demonstrate a proven ability to design and implement a comprehensive monitoring and observability strategy for complex software products
  • Possess hands-on experience with ArgoCD for GitOps-based application deployments and managing Kubernetes application delivery workflows
  • Have experience creating and managing CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions for automation, build, test, and deployment pipelines
  • Have prior experience in defining and implementing frameworks and tools
  • Have experience in Kubernetes, Docker, Third Party clouds (AWS, Azure, Linode, etc.)
  • Have experience working on Linux-based infrastructure, Bash/Python
  • Possess problem-solving and troubleshooting skills across network, system, application, and database layers, with expertise in network protocols, Linux OS, and SQL/KQL

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from CRC16,932,850 - CRC30,479,150/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP). Akamai provides industry-leading benefits including healthcare, 401K savings plan, company holidays, vacation (in the form of PTO), sick time, family friendly benefits including parental leave and an employee assistance program including a focus on mental and financial wellness; Eligibility requirements apply.
