For our new site to be built in El Albujón - Cartagena, we are looking for a results-oriented, entrepreneurial Site Manager to join the Seed Operations team in Spain. The planned start date for this position is September.

Make a difference as a Site Manager:

  • You will be responsible for the management of the site, focusing on seed production.
  • You will manage ultimately a team consisting of Agronomists, Team Leads, and Crop Workers, including permanent employees and seasonal workers.
  • You will ensure optimal seed production with the correct certifications, in accordance with Enza Zaden quality standards.
  • You will develop and implement strategic multi-year plans for cultivation, production, organization, people, processes, and facilities, taking into account the continuous development of the site's capacity and quality.
  • You will actively contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes.
  • You will ensure the health, safety, and sustainability (of employees) at the site. You will report to the Production Operations Manager.
  • You will work closely with Global Crop Production Managers (to coordinate the cultivation plan and discuss cultivation performance), Production Specialists, Quality Assurance, and external suppliers.

What you bring to the table as a future colleague:

  • Higher professional education (HBO/University) level of work and thinking;
  • At least 5 years of experience in seed cultivation;
  • At least 8 years of management experience in an operational environment;
  • Demonstrable experience building and managing a production site;
  • Strong leadership skills: coaching, motivating, expanding, and developing teams;
  • Strategic insight into planning, budgeting, and organizational development;
  • Strong communication skills and a focus on collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

You are entrepreneurial, analytical, results-oriented, and have a green thumb – you understand the dynamics of greenhouse vegetable cultivation (at least 8 years of experience in greenhouse production) and know how to translate this into operational success.

You are willing to travel to other production locations during the initial phase.
