Position OverviewOmitron helps keep space safe and navigable for the nation. We are the developer and sole maintainer of the Astrodynamics Support Workstation (ASW), the mission-critical software suite that serves as the algorithmic engine for high-accuracy spaceflight safety operations across the U.S. Government—providing orbital analysis and conjunction assessment for Space Situational Awareness customers spanning DoD, the Department of Commerce, and NASA. At the 19th Space Defense Squadron in Dahlgren, VA, that mission runs around the clock: tracking objects in orbit, warning of collisions, and preserving the nation's freedom of action in space. We are seeking an experienced Site Lead to run our Dahlgren team at the heart of it, working alongside Orbital Analysts and Engineers to deliver the products that enable government customer situational awareness and decision making.
The role integrates administrative, technical, and operational leadership of the Dahlgren site. Operationally, the team aligns to the Orbital Analysis Manager, who sets cross-site mission intent and holds program-level customer commitments; locally, you own the site's administrative rhythm, serve as the recognized technical authority, and act as the primary day-to-day customer interface. You are the trusted technical authority for customer and Prime engagements and the leader who keeps every analyst and engineer aligned to meaningful, mission-relevant work.ResponsibilitiesAs Site Lead, you are accountable for three integrated leadership functions:

Administrative Leadership (Site Representation)
- Represent corporate leadership on site as first point of contact for company matters; translate policy into local practice and channel site concerns, risks, and personnel issues back to leadership with recommended resolutions.
- Own the site's administrative rhythm: approve timecards, adjudicate leave against mission coverage, and coordinate travel and expense reporting.
- Drive the local personnel lifecycle: support recruiting and interviews, onboard new hires to productive contribution, and provide substantive input to appraisals, promotions, and retention actions.
- Safeguard security, contractual, and corporate-policy compliance; maintain audit-ready documentation and pass internal and external reviews without findings.
- Serve as the recognized subject matter expert for site mission systems and their architectures; when the customer weighs a hard problem, your judgment shapes the decision. Anticipate integration challenges, evaluate emerging tools, and steer the technical direction of the mission.
- Architect and guide software integration across teams, platforms, and security domains so delivered capabilities interoperate cleanly with government and Prime systems.
- Establish and enforce software development standards through hands-on code review, holding delivered tools to a bar of quality, security, and maintainability that withstands customer scrutiny.
- Grow the team's technical depth: identify skill gaps against mission demands, build development plans, and mentor engineers and analysts across SDA mission areas.
- Set daily and weekly site priorities aligned to the Orbital Analysis Manager's direction; keep every team member engaged in meaningful, customer-relevant work and eliminate idle capacity, misaligned effort, and duplication.
- Move new hires into required training pipelines; sustain training currency for critical tasks so the site is ready for steady-state and surge operations.
- Approve site schedules, deconflict resources, and resolve operational escalations with clear courses of action and documented risk acceptance; route program-level and cross-site issues to contract leadership with a recommendation.
- Coordinate with other site teams: broker shared priorities, synchronize handoffs, and surface cross-team dependencies before they become blockers.
- Serve as the primary day-to-day interface at Dahlgren for operations status, risks, readiness, and decision briefs; escalate program-level commitments to contract leadership.
- Provide concise SITREPs and course-of-action comparisons with impacts and recommended decisions; engage Prime and government customers recurringly to assess evolving needs and convert them into staffing, training, and tasking decisions.
- Maintain a predictable battle rhythm (standups, weekly syncs, monthly readiness reviews, quarterly business reviews) with decisions, actions, owners, and due dates documented and visible.
- Lead, coach, and evaluate site analysts and engineers; set growth goals, hold regular 1:1s, and reinforce accountability, disciplined processes, and professional communication.
