Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for a municipal and urban development design engineer with a keen interest in project management and customer interaction. In this role, you will work on project coordination and management, as well as engineering planning and design for residential, commercial and institutional development infrastructure (parking lots, roads, sewers, water mains, stormwater management studies and calculations, etc.). The position will be based in Gatineau, on a hybrid work model, with the possibility of working from home three days a week.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and manage infrastructure projects for various clients in Quebec, including road and parking infrastructure, drinking water and fire protection systems, storm and sanitary sewer plans and profiles, site drainage and stormwater management design, including calculations, studies and planning, etc.
- Liaise with customers, regulatory authorities and other project stakeholders to guide projects through the approval process
- With the assistance of the Project Manager, participate in the management of project resources, schedule and budget tracking, quality control and project risk assessment, in order to meet customer expectations
- Coach 1-2 other members of the design team in the fundamentals of detailed design of civil engineering infrastructure and site development works, as well as in project management
Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years' experience in municipal infrastructure design
- Previous project management experience is an asset; however, mentoring is available for the right person
- University degree in civil engineering or equivalent
- Valid Quebec engineer's (P.Eng.) permit or able to obtain one
- French language skills (spoken and written)
- Valid driving license
