The Role
Vanguard UK Personal Investor (UKPI) is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Technical Lead to strengthen its expertise across product wrappers. This is a key role supporting both ongoing business operations and future strategic proposition development.
You will take ownership of the technical and regulatory integrity of SIPP and ISA wrappers, ensuring they remain compliant, competitive, and aligned to evolving market and regulatory requirements. Working at the heart of the proposition and change function, you will play a critical role in shaping the platform’s future offering and delivering improved outcomes for clients.
In this role you will
Technical Leadership
Act as the technical lead for SIPP and ISA wrappers within UKPI
Define and maintain technical requirements aligned to Vanguard’s customer proposition
Partner with proposition teams to ensure alignment between customer experience, regulation, and platform capabilities
Monitor industry developments and ensure wrappers remain aligned with market and regulatory changes
Collaborate across workstreams to ensure technical impacts are understood and deliverable
Establish and maintain core regulatory control frameworks for product wrappers
Identify and assess the impact of new regulatory and technical changes on services and propositions
Regulatory Oversight
Ensure ongoing regulatory compliance of SIPP and ISA wrappers within the platform
Contribute to consultation responses and regulatory developments
Represent Vanguard externally at industry forums and working groups
Engage with the FCA on regulatory and proposition-related matters where required
Translate regulatory developments into clear business impacts, risks, and solutions for senior stakeholders
Business & Proposition Development
Partner with internal teams to identify and deliver wrapper enhancements and changes
Leverage customer insights and feedback to prioritise propositional improvements
Maintain awareness of industry positioning to anticipate regulatory and market changes
Balance priorities across the platform to ensure aligned and effective delivery of technical change
Ensure all regulatory changes are implemented on time and to a high standard
Maintain and update product specifications across SIPP, ISA, and General Account (GA)
What it takes
Extensive knowledge of the UK SIPP and ISA markets, including regulatory frameworks, with strong technical understanding of platform products (SIPP, ISA, GA)
Proven experience working within pensions and retail financial services, including administration environments
Demonstrated ability to deliver regulatory change programmes and maintain robust governance and control frameworks
Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to deliver technical and propositional change
Commercially aware, able to align technical solutions with client outcomes and business objectives
Analytical and inquisitive mindset, with strong attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex information and ambiguity to form clear, pragmatic recommendations
Solution-focused and delivery-driven, committed to achieving high-quality outcomes in complex environments
Professional qualifications such as PMI, CISI, or equivalent are desirable

This is a hybrid position and would require you to work in the office 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday)
