What is the opportunity?
Enterprise DBA Group provides DBA services for Singlestore and possibly other database technologies. This role of Singlestore DBA Supports the development and maintenance of scalable data stores that supply big data in forms needed for business analysis. Applies extensive, in-depth knowledge, skills, and practices to perform complex assignments.
What will you do?

This is an application DBA role, to provide DBA services and support to development/production application teams
-
There is no Singlestore software installation or patching in this position
-
Database and table design, database and query optimization and tuning
-
Backup and recovery strategy, creation of backups, restore testing, and real recoveries
-
Setup of monitoring and alerting processes
-
Partner with Application teams, RBC infrastructure teams, SingleStore vendor
-
On call for planned implementations, and 24X7 on-call rotation for production support
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
-
Must have 5+ years working experience with SingleStore
-
Must have working experience in performance tuning in SingleStore
-
Must know SingleStore distributed architecture and different database and table design options for performance (i.e. column store/rowstore, sharded key, reference tables, reshuffle/rebroadcast, etc…)

Good communication skills (written, verbal, listening)

Ablility to lead initiatives
Nice-to-have:
-
Nice to have knowledge and experience in another database technology and knowledge and experience with a Cloud database (Azure or Aws)
