Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Design and build discrete-event simulation models to represent complex logistics, supply chain, and operational workflows.
  • Translate real-world process maps, operational rules, and client requirements into simulation logic.
  • Analyze and prepare data to feed simulation inputs; validate model outputs against historical data.
  • Run scenario experiments and sensitivity analyses to surface bottlenecks and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Create visualizations and present findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders and client leadership.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, consultants, and client teams to bridge current-state and future-state operations.
  • Document models, assumptions, and deliverables to a high standard.

Minimum requirements for the position

  • This position requires eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance. Due to the nature of the work and applicable government requirements, applicants must be U.S. citizens.
  • Proficiency in at least one discrete-event simulation tool: FlexSim, AnyLogic, or equivalent
  • Experience modeling logistics, supply chain, or operational workflows
  • Ability to translate real-world process maps and operational rules into simulation logic
  • Comfortable working with ambiguous or incomplete enterprise data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to present findings to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in defense, government, or large-scale logistics environments strongly preferred
  • Experience with Python a plus (for data pre-processing and scripting)
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field
