To support the effective operation of Sight Village events across the UK, including planning, development, and delivery. The role involves assisting with the organisation and administration of events, including health & safety and wellbeing, and supporting customer relationship activities related to promotion, sponsorship, exhibitors and event visitors.
Key Responsibilities & Safeguarding
- Support in the development, planning, and delivery of annual Sight Village events, ensuring effective organisation, administration, and customer relationship management.
- Support in exploring new income generation opportunities, including sponsorships, partnerships, and other potential funding sources
- Attend and support all Sight Village events, including necessary overnight travel.
- Produce and distribute high-quality digital and printed marketing materials for Sight Village events.
- Collaborate with the QA Charity’s Marketing team on campaigns, advertising, and enhancing social media presence for Sight Village.
- Support in producing external communications and seasonal e-catalogues to meet stakeholder needs.
- Have excellent levels of written and oral communication with an ability to tailor communications to varying audiences.
- Attend networking events to represent the service, build connections, and help identify potential opportunities for collaboration or engagement.
- Assist in maintaining a GDPR-compliant communications database for external contacts.
- Support accurate data collection, entry, and management in line with current data protection legislation.
- Raise concerns or alert potential issues to ensure awareness and compliance.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Educated to A Level or equivalent
- Experience of working in a marketing, communications, events, and relationship management environment
- Must hold a full, clean driving license
- Experience in planning and delivering events
- Experience in building relationships with a variety of organisations and/or individuals
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present confidently to a variety of audiences and adapt approach to best meet the needs of the audience
- Ability to multitask and work under pressure sometimes in challenging situations

Queen Alexandra Charity (QAC) provides education, residential support, community services and enterprises in support of young adults with learning difficulties and disabilities. Education is provided through a national residential College that supports a diverse range of student/client abilities and needs. Our College provides education, training, routes to independent living and employment through an innovative, holistic approach to learning and support. It offers a vibrant, varied and fun educational experience for both residential and day students. Our curriculum aims to maximise adult life, independence and work opportunities for all students. What We Do
Queen Alexandra Charity, Birmingham is a registered charity that runs specialist further education college services, residential services, community services and enterprises. These services benefit adults with learning difficulties, disabilities and those with sight loss. Queen Alexandra College (QAC) is a national day and residential College for people aged 16-25. The College has been at its current location in Harborne since 1903 and offers an innovative and holistic approach to learning and support for young adults with a diverse range of abilities and needs. Our curriculum is designed to maximise adult life opportunities, develop independence and work skills. Programmes are delivered from pre-entry to level 3 and are tailored to suit individual needs, interests and ambitions. Students studying at QAC may wish to consider joining us as a residential student. Part time, full time (term time only) and respite options are available to enable students to develop their independent living and social skills. Following their time at QAC some students choose to move onto our ‘Independence Plus’ Supported Living programme.
