Job Purpose/Objective:
The Short Order Selector 3rd Shift is responsible for pulling products in an accurate and timely manner for Ward's customers who order products in smaller quantities (by each, by pound, or by half case). The Overnight Short Order Selector is also responsible for loading the “short orders” on to a pallet in an accurate and timely manner for Ward's Produce customers.
Essential Job Functions:
- Pulling, labeling, and packaging orders for Keany Produce customers.
- Loading pulled orders onto pallets and / or delivery trucks.
- Inspecting complete orders to ensure that all product items have been pulled.
Working Conditions/Job Environment:
Degrees of physical demands (strength) are usually associated with this position.
Medium, Min lift requirement 50-60 lbs on a regular basis
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
- Ability to recognize letters and symbols.
- 1 - 2 years direct order pulling experience preferably in the produce industry
- Basic awareness of produce types
- Basic warehouse distribution
- Able to lift and load products into boxes.
- Able to make judgments on product quality
- Able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment, and have good organizational skills.
Skills Required

- 1–2 years of direct order-pulling experience, preferably in the produce industry

What We Do
PJK Wards Holdings LLC operates as Ward’s Produce, a family-owned, fourth-generation wholesale produce distributor based in Raleigh, North Carolina. The business supplies fresh farmed produce and specialty products to restaurants across the Triangle area and serves foodservice, hospitality groups, hotels, casinos, retirement homes, grocery stores, business units, and cafeterias. It does not generally deliver to individual consumers, while offering warehouse will-call purchases.
