About the Role

We are looking to add another skilled Settlement Distribution Specialist to join our growing Finance team. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented individual with the skills and knowledge to help handle the many distributions of the firm. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an organized and detail-oriented junior finance professional to contribute to the growth and success of our firm.

You Will:

  • Manage and coordinate the distribution of settlement funds to clients and other involved parties
  • Review settlement agreements and confirm accurate disbursement amounts based on client agreements
  • Maintain detailed records of all disbursements and ensure they are properly documented in the firm’s system
  • Communicate with clients to ensure they understand the disbursement process and provide updates as needed
  • Collaborate with the settlement team and attorneys to obtain required signatures, releases, and other necessary documentation
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, financial, and ethical standards during the disbursement process
  • Assist with creating and managing disbursement journals and other related records
  • Troubleshoot any issues related to the distribution of settlement funds.

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (preferred but not required)
  • Prior experience in a legal or settlement coordination role, particularly within a law firm
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Familiarity with settlement processes, client disbursements, and legal compliance
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex processes to clients
  • Proficiency in using legal and accounting software to manage disbursements and records
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
