Our partners are productive and empowered through the delivery of our innovative technology, robust and consistent customer service. The ServiceNow Platform Engineer has the opportunity to contribute technical expertise, influence and solutions for the ServiceNow platform.  This includes engaging for the delivery of the IT Asset Management and Optimization Program. 

Key Objectives/Deliverables

Engage with our Lilly ServiceNow team, cross functional IT partners, and vendors to enhance the ServiceNow capabilities and deliver new functionality. 

This is achieved through:

  • Technical proficiency of the ServiceNow platform, while working closely with the Platform Architect and the Technical Leads for the ServiceNow applications
  • Utilization of knowledge and experience of ServiceNow, to create the design and oversight for development of new capabilities
  • Effective impact analysis of the local and/or global changes while ensuring consistency and conformance to Standard Operating Procedures for architecture, data, integrations and processes
  • A high learning agility to understand the current state and provide technical expertise to advance the design and project deliverables
  • Maintaining the appropriate awareness of ever-changing business needs, technical changes and vendor/supplier relationships and services
  • Strong problem solving skills, with a commitment to establish relationships, work effectively with others, ensure controls and monitor the progress
  • Strong verbal and written communications, along with the ability to articulate the ideas and recommendations to management, architects and cross-functional teams
  • Functional knowledge of IT infrastructure
  • Applied knowledge of ITIL v3

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of experience in IT
  • 3+ years Knowledge of the software development life cycle, spanning the entire lifecycle from project initiation to deployment, support, and retirement
  • Knowledge of the ServiceNow apps/components and System Admin skills
  • Database skills to understand common databases and how to utilize this information to advance ServiceNow capabilities
  • Data Integration experience and awareness of additional technologies to facilitate the integration needs with other platforms, cloud computing, etc.
  • Configuration Management skills to bridge the concepts and readiness between the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), ServiceNow Discovery and Asset Management
  • Fluent in English for verbal and written communications, is essential
  • Proven team player and the ability to work in a dynamic environment, where needs and priorities can change, with compressed deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, anticipate, and resolve complex issues (technical, operational,  or business-related) through sound problem-solving skills.
  • Motivation to educate self and others
  • Proven ability to build relationships internally and externally 
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional interactions
  • Depth and breadth of expertise with integrations with external systems and data management
