As a SEO Manager on our Audience Development team you will own CardCritics.com. You’ll be our first SEO Manager fully dedicated to helping us further increase our visibility and authority in the credit card world.
In this role, you’ll get to drive our SEO strategy and empower consumers with the insights they need to make smart financial choices. Your skills will be key in connecting users with the best credit card options and taking our CardCritics brand to the next level. You’ll report to our Senior SEO Manager, and you’ll own our CardCritics SEO roadmap from start to finish, working closely with our editorial, product, and technical teams to create and execute data-driven strategies that grow our organic traffic. You’ll have the chance to shape the content we publish, making sure it aligns with SEO best practices and resonates with our audience. The salary range for this role is $135,000 to $145,000. Pay offered may vary within the posted range based on a number of factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
WHAT YOU’LL TACKLE
- Drive significant organic traffic growth by owning and executing a comprehensive SEO content roadmap that aligns with business goals and consistently meets measurable targets.
- Enhance site visibility and rankings through collaboration with editorial, product, and technical teams, ensuring both content and product features are optimized for SEO.
- Improve performance metrics by analyzing SEO data, identifying opportunities, and recommending actionable strategies to increase rankings, engagement, and conversions.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Lead the SEO Content Strategy and Roadmap Initiatives for CardCritics.com: Take full ownership of developing, refining, and executing a comprehensive SEO content strategy that aligns with business goals. Build and maintain a detailed content roadmap for the site, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of initiatives to drive organic traffic growth.
- Collaborate with Editorial Teams to Implement SEO Roadmap Initiatives: Work closely with editors and writers on our editorial team to oversee the successful execution of SEO content strategies. Provide clear guidance on SEO best practices, keyword usage, and content structure to ensure that all published content aligns with SEO goals and enhances user engagement.
- Project Management and Task Delegation: Assist in managing and prioritizing the SEO roadmap by breaking down projects into actionable tasks, ensuring clear deadlines and deliverables are communicated. Monitor progress and reallocate resources as needed to meet goals efficiently.
- Collaborate with Product Teams to Shape the Product-Led SEO Roadmap: Work in partnership with product development teams to influence and shape SEO strategies that are built into the product roadmap. Identify opportunities where product features can boost organic search performance and advise on SEO-friendly enhancements to grow organic traffic through product innovations.
- Work with Technical SEO (TSEO) Teams to Ensure SEO Compliance: Partner with TSEO specialists to ensure that websites meet current SEO best practices, including site speed, mobile usability, structured data, and technical optimization. Identify new opportunities for enhancing site performance, fixing technical issues, and improving organic rankings.
- Contribute to Goal Setting (OKRs) and Monitor SEO Performance: Assist in setting SEO-related Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) to ensure that strategic initiatives are aligned with broader business goals. Monitor the progress of these initiatives and adjust tactics as needed to meet or exceed set objectives.
- Analyze SEO Performance Metrics and Drive Action: Regularly review key SEO performance metrics such as organic traffic, rankings, and engagement. Use these insights to identify trends, issues, and areas for improvement. Proactively recommend actionable strategies for the SEO team to implement, driving continued growth and optimization.
- Report SEO Performance to Business Leadership and Identify Opportunities: Communicate SEO performance results and insights to senior business leaders, providing clear updates on progress toward goals, upcoming challenges, and key opportunities to expand organic traffic growth. Develop presentations and reports that explain SEO strategies in business terms.
- Conduct Keyword Research and Competitive Analysis: Lead efforts in keyword research to identify new content opportunities, trends, and competitive gaps. Analyze competitor strategies to uncover potential areas for improvement or new initiatives to enhance our SEO efforts.
- Perform On-Page Optimization Audits: Conduct in-depth on-page SEO audits to ensure content and technical elements such as meta descriptions, headers, internal linking, and schema markup are optimized for search engines. Provide actionable recommendations to improve content quality, keyword targeting, and user experience.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- At least 2 years of recent experience driving traffic growth with data-based SEO strategies and roadmaps for credit card, finance, or other YMYL sites that generate revenue primarily through ads and offer information to help consumers make informed decisions.
- At least 5 years of paid professional work experience including 4 years in SEO roles.
- Strong skills in search engine algorithms and updates, content and technical SEO, analyzing performance data to make recommendations, and presenting to senior audiences.
