Who we are
Joining Popsa right now is an exceptional opportunity. We’re building the world’s most intuitive platform for memories — one that treats your photos not just as images, but as the soundtrack to your life.

In 2025, we’re on track to achieve over $50 million in revenue, growing at around 28% year‑on‑year. Our native iOS and Android apps are available in 12 languages, with more than 10 million users to date, and we ship to over 50 countries worldwide.

We launched our new website in 12 markets in April 2025 and our online magazine, Perspectives, in July of the same year. In 2026 we are planning to supercharge our growth across more markets, by scaling both our content strategy and digital PR.  We also see the recent advancements in AI as an opportunity to increase Popsa’s digital footprint across non-Google platforms.

While we’re best known for photobooks today, our ambition goes far beyond print. Popsa is building a new generation of services that combine artificial intelligence and thoughtful design to help people meaningfully reflect on, organise, and bring their memories to life.

The mission for the role
As SEO Lead, your mission is to make organic search a durable, defensible, and future‑proof growth channel for Popsa.

This is not a traditional SEO role. You’ll be responsible for evolving our organic strategy beyond classic search into Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), ensuring Popsa is discoverable wherever and however people search, including AI‑powered experiences.

You’ll own technical SEO best practice, feed and Merchant Center performance, and digital PR, while partnering closely with Content, Brand, Product, and Engineering to shape bottom‑of‑funnel content for Perspectives, Popsa’s online magazine.

This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who blends strategic thinking with executional depth and is excited by the pace and ambiguity of a scaling consumer tech business.

What success looks like in your first 6 months

  • Technical foundations: Our technical SEO setup is robust, scalable, and aligned with best practice across all markets.
  • Future‑ready search: You’ve defined and begun executing a clear AEO / GEO strategy, ensuring Popsa content performs across AI‑driven search experiences.
  • Commercial impact: Feed and Merchant Center performance is materially improved, supporting stronger product visibility and revenue contribution from organic shopping surfaces.
  • Content integration: SEO is deeply embedded into Perspectives, shaping high‑intent, bottom‑of‑funnel content that supports both brand and conversion.
  • Authority building: A clear digital PR and link‑building strategy is live, improving Popsa’s authority through high‑quality, relevant coverage.
  • Cross‑functional trust: You’ve built strong working relationships with Engineering, Content, PR, Brand and Growth, positioning SEO as a strategic partner rather than a service function.

Your Responsibilities

  • SEO & Technical Excellence
  • Own Popsa’s technical SEO roadmap, ensuring best practice across crawlability, indexation, site performance, internationalisation, and structured data.
  • Partner closely with Engineering to scope, prioritise, and implement SEO‑related improvements.
  • Continuously audit and evolve our technical setup to support scale and new product launches.

  • AEO / GEO Leadership
  • Define and execute Popsa’s approach to Answer Engine Optimisation and Generative Engine Optimisation.
  • Ensure Popsa content is structured, authoritative, and discoverable across AI‑powered search and assistant experiences.
  • Stay ahead of search platform evolution and translate emerging trends into practical strategy.

  • Feed Management & Merchant Center
  • Own product feed strategy across Google Merchant Center and other relevant platforms.
  • Improve feed quality, structure, and enrichment to maximise visibility across free and paid shopping surfaces.
  • Partner with Growth and Engineering to ensure feeds support commercial priorities.

  • Content Strategy (Bottom of Funnel)
  • Work closely with Content and Brand to shape SEO‑led content for Perspectives, with a focus on high‑intent, decision‑stage queries.
  • Ensure content strategy balances performance, brand voice, and long‑term authority building.
  • Provide clear guidance on briefs, formats, and optimisation best practice.

  • Digital PR & Link Building
  • Define and execute a best‑in‑class digital PR and link‑building strategy.
  • Secure high‑quality, relevant coverage that strengthens Popsa’s authority and organic performance.
  • Collaborate with PR, Content, and external partners where appropriate.

  • Measurement & Evangelism
  • Define success metrics for SEO, AEO, and organic discovery more broadly.
  • Regularly share performance, insights, and opportunities with senior stakeholders.
  • Evangelise modern SEO thinking across the business.

What you bring to the team

  • Significant experience leading SEO for a consumer, ecommerce, or mobile‑first business.
  • Deep technical SEO expertise and a strong track record of working with engineering teams.
  • Advanced understanding of AEO, GEO, and the future of search beyond traditional blue links.
  • Experience managing product feeds and Merchant Center performance.
  • Strong content strategy instincts, particularly for bottom‑of‑funnel and commercial content.
  • Proven experience delivering digital PR and sustainable link‑building strategies.
  • A commercial mindset, able to connect SEO activity to revenue and growth outcomes.

  • Nice to have:
  • Experience working in multi‑market, multilingual environments.
  • Familiarity with AI‑assisted content workflows and tooling.
  • Experience integrating SEO with broader brand and storytelling efforts.

What We Do

Joining Popsa now is pretty exciting. According to Deloitte, we’re the UK’s fastest-growing startup of 2020. We have a fast-growing global customer base to match, and the backing of some of the best investors in the world. Our native iOS and Android apps are available in 12 languages – attracting more than 3 million users to date – and we ship to 50 countries around the world. Phew. So why is Popsa so hot right now? The reality is, people have never taken more photos than we do today. Our phones are literally crammed with memories. But although we’re good at capturing moments – we’re not as good at doing anything with them. They’ll often sit forgotten on our devices or in the cloud. Then Popsa came along. Founded in 2016, we’ve built an award-winning app that’s made printing your memories so easy and accessible, anyone can do it. No more barriers. No more time-wasting. In fact, everything we do as a business is designed with this ethos. We help people turn their best moments into something beautiful and lasting, in no time at all. Today we’re best known for photobooks, but our vision of the future goes far beyond print. We’re building a platform to help people to curate their experiences in lots of exciting ways. We want to become THE place where people come to capture their life stories. To celebrate their most important people and relationships. To create lasting meaning from their experiences.
