RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Katalon TrueTest, an innovative AI-augmented test automation solution designed to automatically discover, model, generate, and maintain user-journey test cases. TrueTest streamlines the test generation process, significantly saving time and enhancing testing efficiency by leveraging real user behavior to create relevant regression tests.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing this flagship tool, contributing to its evolution and ensuring it meets the needs of our users. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate with the product manager and team to develop and enhance the product's new features in addition to utilizing Generative AI technology.
- Perform detailed technical analysis and design to break down the feature based on the high-level design and business requirements.
- Develop and review code that meets the development standards for code style, design patterns, readability, and maintainability and integrates best practices for scaling.
- Work with peer engineers to grow the technical accountability of the system to ensure release product quality, security, and performance.
- Utilize Code Pilot to increase development efficiency and quality by automating repetitive tasks and identifying potential bugs or issues early on.
- Identify areas for improvement within the existing codebase and suggest solutions to improve.
- Identify and contribute to internal engineering working groups to define and build internal libraries, tools, and frameworks for reusability and centralize practices across
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues to support customer requests.
- Provide support to end-users, addressing issues and ensuring a smooth user experience.
- Support automation QAs and product specialists to maintain the demo system and write scripts using new Katalon features, to test applications.
- Core Technical Expertise:
- Solid experience with Java programming, especially newer versions
- Proficiency in Java-based backend frameworks like Spring or Quarkus and ORMs like Hibernate.
- Skilled in testing tools such as JUnit and Mockito.
- Containerization & Orchestration:
- Strong experience with Kubernetes (K8s) (esp. AWS EKS), including deploying and managing workloads.
- Familiarity with KNative, KEDA, and Dapr for building scalable microservices.
- Data Pipelines & Streaming:
- Experience with data pipeline technologies such as Apache Airflow and Kafka (esp. AWS MSK).
- Experience with AWS data services, including S3, API Gateway, Kinesis Data Firehose
- Understanding of event-driven architectures and distributed processing.
- Development Practices:
- Familiarity with full-stack development and a solid understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Experience with popular development tools, including JIRA, SonarQube, and Selenium.
- System Administration & Infrastructure:
- Proficient in working with Unix/Linux environments.
- Adept at shell scripting and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible, etc. are a plus).
