About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned product manager to spearhead our data, analytics, and insights focused product initiatives. In this role, you will collaborate closely with clients and prospects to comprehend their business requirements, identify software solutions, establish priorities, and articulate our product strategy. Reporting to the Chief Innovation Officer, you will work in tandem with various stakeholders across the company, including product managers, designers, engineers, data scientists, and teams from sales, solutions engineering, and client success. As a hands-on problem-solver with a deep passion for product development and data, you excel at transforming ambiguous concepts into clear, actionable plans. The ideal candidate is versatile, equally adept at discussing data technology with engineers, explaining data products to colleagues, presenting data strategies to leadership, and contributing to day-to-day operations across the company. Your ability to manage expectations of senior staff and balance competing demands from various departments is crucial. You possess a keen awareness of people, a strong sense of purpose and integrity, profound emotional intelligence, and a results-driven mindset focused on efficient execution.
This position must be based in our New York City office and is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work remotely 2-3 days a week.
In this role, you will:
- Craft and implement a holistic data product strategy that harmonizes with the company's overarching business objectives and current market dynamics.
- Articulate and disseminate a clear vision and roadmap for data products, ensuring they address customer needs and generate quantifiable business value.
- Serve as the primary intermediary between technical teams and business stakeholders, facilitating seamless product delivery and alignment.
- Collect, prioritize, and transform product and customer requirements into comprehensive product specifications and actionable features, maintaining consistency with company strategy.
- Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation to launch and beyond, guaranteeing timely delivery, superior quality, and optimal performance of data products.
- Harness data analytics to guide product decisions, evaluate performance metrics, and enhance user experiences.
- Spearhead market research and competitive analysis initiatives to uncover opportunities for innovation and market differentiation.
- Maintain effective communication with senior leadership and key stakeholders, providing regular updates on product performance, roadmap progress, and strategic initiatives.
- Remain at the forefront of emerging technologies, tools, and trends in data product management to drive continuous innovation and improvement.
You come to the table with:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Business, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of product management experience, with a focus on B2B SaaS, data products.
- Robust understanding of data technologies, analytics platforms, machine learning, generative AI, and big data ecosystems; proficiency in tools like PowerBI, SQL, Python, or similar is advantageous.
- Extensive experience in integrating diverse data sources to construct cohesive data pipelines and generate comprehensive reports.
- In-depth knowledge of data management and governance concepts, including data architecture, warehousing, modeling, lineage, and transformation techniques.
- Proven track record in developing new products within a startup ecosystem.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude, demonstrating the capacity to make data-driven decisions.
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, or equivalent systems, and/or experience with Agile methodologies.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a keen focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
Salary: $140,000 – $190,000 + benefits, bonus, and equity
Actual compensation packages are determined by evaluating a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, education, certifications, cost of labor and internal equity.
