Location of Position
Ideally this position would be in our NYC office but can be a remote position for the right candidate, with the expectation that there would be frequent travel to NYC as needed.

Position Summary
CleanCapital is seeking an individual to join its capital markets team as an Associate or Senior Associate (title commensurate with experience). The Capital Markets team is responsible for structuring and executing CleanCapital’s financing strategy, including sourcing tax equity, construction debt, and term debt (both bank and non-bank) for the Company’s portfolio of solar and storage assets, as well as sourcing and structuring corporate capital. This position will report initially to the Senior Director, Investments & Capital Markets.
Core Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include:

Support marketing and origination activities with potential financing partners

Develop confidential information memoranda and financial models with oversight from senior members of the capital markets team

Support structuring, negotiation, and due diligence for financing transactions, including management of third-party consultants and attorneys

Provide tax equity and debt assumptions for project valuations, with oversight from the Senior Director, Investments & Capital Markets

Support internal evaluation of financing options to maximize returns and other strategic goals of the firm

Assist with maintaining CleanCapital’s tax equity and debt financial models
-
Support the Asset Management team with the preparation of reports and other compliance materials for financing parties
Education Requirements
-
BA/BS or equivalent in finance, business administration, economics, or a related field
Technical Skills and Experience
-
Minimum 3 years of experience in the following areas:
-
Investment banking, power generation, or electric utility industry in investment or business development related roles
-
Creation and modification of sophisticated Excel based models including financial statement models and valuations/LBO/DCF models.

Auditing of existing financial models to insure 100% accuracy of the assumptions and information
-
Financial analysis, with experience creating and maintaining Excel models during the investment process
-
Researching and assessing investment considerations across a wide variety of asset classes and geographies
-
Experience in renewable energy project finance debt and tax equity required
Psychosocial Skills /Human Skills/Behavioral Skills

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take ideas and run with them from concept to conclusion.

Technical understanding of clean energy business processes
