Job Description
The Washington Post is looking to hire a sharp Analyst with solid analytical skills for a client-facing role on our tight-knit, strategic HR team! This Analyst will have primary responsibility for creating reports in Workday and analyzing data. They will also work with the HRIS team which manages all Workday HCM modules; the selected candidate will develop expertise around absence management, benefits, compensation, recruiting, talent, time tracking, and staffing. Internal and external Workday training and knowledge sharing will be provided as needed to expand the candidate’s skill set further. This position is located in downtown Washington, D.C., named among “the coolest cities in America.”

Responsibilities
- Partner with all areas of HR and internal clients to create, edit and prepare basic and complex reports as well as user-friendly dashboards
- Develop reusable reports which can be scheduled for multiple business units
- Maintain report templates and automated reports
- Provide workforce data to the HR Director, HR customers, business unit managers, and other internal clients
- Maintain integrity, security and accuracy of HR data and systems
- Proactively seek and provide recommendations to improve efficiency of reports
- Ensure all requests are handled in line with deadlines and security standards
- Provide data to be used in regular compliance reporting (e.g. EEO)
- HCM Transactions: Review and process all employee transactions, such as job changes, compensation changes, promotions, and terminations
- Train internal HR operations team members as needed
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of reporting and data analysis or related experience required and 1+ years of relevant Workday HRIS experience
- Intimate working knowledge of Workday's data structure including available data sources and how to use and create calculated fields is preferred
- Solid understanding of the downstream impacts of reports and requests
- Expert level Excel skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, be able to manage and work to bring clarity through ambiguity and complexity, and support multiple projects simultaneously
- Highly responsive to business needs
- High level of attention to detail
- Have the ability to juggle multiple projects and initiatives at one time
- Able to work well independently and under pressure
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in information systems, computer science, human resources management, or business administration.

Benefits may vary based on the job, full-time or part-time schedule, location, and collectively bargained status.
The salary range for this position is:
85,100.00 - 127,700.00 USD Annual
The actual salary within this range will depend on individual skills, experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements. This position may be eligible for a bonus or incentive program, and a member of the Talent Acquisition team will discuss bonus payment terms and conditions during the interview process.
