As the Senior Windows Administrator, you will be a part of a global team responsible for the management and monitoring of a large number of Windows systems in all regions of the world. Core functions for this role include management of server and storage systems, issue resolution, patching, management of new installations, upgrades, and migrations, including AI-driven approaches, to enhance operational excellence.
This role includes responsibilities for interacting with internal customers at ISS STOXX.
Hands-on operational activities:
Install, configure, test and maintain client and server systems, application software, server applications and system management tools
Install and upgrade infrastructure systems and processes
Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure, including hybrid environments.
Proactively ensure the highest level of systems and infrastructure availability
Provide technical support for both hardware and software issues
Contribute to technical decision‑making, offering pragmatic input that balances best practice with business realities
Participate in on‑call rotations and after‑hours support, taking responsibility for service restoration and clear communication during incidents
Lead or contribute to post‑incident reviews with a focus on prevention, system resilience, and service improvement
Participate in scheduled patching and maintenance activities, including coordination, execution, validation, and post‑maintenance support
Demonstrate curiosity in using AI-assisted tools to enhance troubleshooting, automation, documentation, and proactive system improvements
Cloud and Virtualization:
Administer and support GCP services, including Compute Engine, Cloud IAM, and other relevant services
Optimise VMware environments to ensure efficient resource utilisation and system availability
Support and evolve hybrid infrastructure leveraging Google Cloud Platform, contributing to cloud adoption, migration, or optimisation initiatives
Automation:
Develop and maintain PowerShell and batch scripts to automate repetitive administrative tasks, reduce manual effort, and improve system consistency
Identify opportunities to streamline operational processes through automation, documentation, and tooling improvements
Contribute to the evolution of infrastructure standards, runbooks, and operational best practices
BA in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent experience
5+ years of proven experience with Windows administration and support
Working knowledge of Windows Server technologies (such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and File/Print services)
Demonstrated interest or curiosity in leveraging AI or intelligent tooling to improve day-to-day system administration practices
Basic to Intermediate scripting skills using batch scripts and PowerShell
Working knowledge of standard Windows security methodologies, hardening procedures, and best practices
Excellent communication & documentation skills, both in technical and non-technical areas
Ability to work with a global support team, including ticket management applications such as Jira and ServiceNow
Hands-on experience with the VMWare environment and general principles of virtualization
Hands-on experience with Cloud computing (GCP/Azure)
Familiarity with backup needs and approaches
Ability and willingness for on-call and after-hours work
Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure
Basic familiarity with Linux
Knowledge of storage systems and management
