Senior Visual Designer (Digital)

As a Senior Visual Designer at Black Airplane, you will play a critical role in elevating the visual quality of our projects. Collaborating with UX designers, engineers, and stakeholders, you’ll transform solid UX foundations into visually stunning designs that exceed client expectations. You’ll craft high-quality, polished visual concepts for digital products and help bring our clients’ brands to life in creative and innovative ways.

This is a full-time, remote position (US only).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with UX designers to transform wireframes into visually stunning, high-fidelity designs.
• Design web and mobile applications with clear hierarchy, pixel-perfect execution, and exceptional visual polish.
• Partner with clients to elevate and extend their brand expression across digital platforms.
• Create high-quality design assets, including UI elements, custom illustrations, and animations.
• Develop and maintain scalable design systems, including typography, color palettes, components, and layouts.
• Produce brand-supporting assets such as logos, motion graphics, and marketing visuals.
• Present design concepts and prototypes to clients and stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
• Manage multiple projects, delivering high-quality work on time and within scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or equivalent industry experience.
• 6+ years of experience in visual design with a strong portfolio showcasing polished digital product designs and strategic thinking.
• Expert knowledge of design principles, typography, color theory, and layout design.
• Fluency in design tools, including Figma and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects).
• Strong understanding of crafting user interfaces for consumer and enterprise digital products.
• Experience creating brand-supporting assets such as illustrations, logos, and motion graphics.
• Knowledge of motion or interactive design is a plus but not required.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present and justify design decisions clearly.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently and collaboratively, meeting deadlines consistently.

Black Airplane is a fully remote-friendly environment. Work location is flexible if approved by Black Airplane, except that the position may not be performed remotely from AK, CA, HI, MA, NY, OR, PA, WA, or outside of the United States.
