Job Description

As the Senior Vice President of Product Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our company’s product strategy and driving innovation. You’ll lead a talented team of project managers, engineers, and designers to create exceptional products that meet market needs and exceed customer expectations. Every role at Trove Brands is critical to our successful functioning as a whole. Your specific responsibilities as a part of Team Trove will include:

  1. Strategic Leadership:
    1. Report directly to the CEO as a member of the business executive team.
    2. Lead product strategy initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
    3. Develop and communicate a clear product vision that inspires the team and drives results.
    4. Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to define product roadmaps and prioritize initiatives.
  2. Product Development:
    1. Oversee research for new products, product enhancements, and product redesign.
    2. Manage the end-to-end product development process, from concept to launch.
    3. Work closely with engineering teams, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure timely and high-quality product delivery.
    4. Drive innovation by identifying market trends and opportunities.
  3. Team Leadership and Management:
    1. Grow and mentor a team of talented technical professionals, including product managers, designers, and engineers.
    2. Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the project development team.
    3. Set performance goals, provide regular feedback, and promote professional development.
  4. Collaboration Across Departments:
    1. Work closely with other business functions, including operations, marketing, sales, and legal.
    2. Ensure seamless coordination between product development and other teams.
    3. Champion cross-functional collaboration to achieve organizational objectives.

Qualifications

We seek team members who are adept at contributing their personal expertise to a collaborative work environment. For this role, we’re looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (an MBA is preferred).
  2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in product management, product development, or related roles.
  3. Ability to develop department budgets and spending criteria and manage to those expectations.
  4. Expertise in launching consumer packaged goods, ensuring Scope, Schedule and Cost. 
  5. Proven ability to create and execute product strategies.
  6. Experience working with major US retailers and understanding their unique requirements.
  7. Sustained track record of developing 3-5 year product roadmaps.
  8. Familiarity and experience with offshore manufacturing processes.
  9. Knowledge of patents and intellectual property (IP) portfolio management.
