Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Senior V&V Test Engineer to support the validation of autonomous vehicle systems and vehicle-level interfaces.
You will combine hands-on test development and debugging with technical ownership, working across requirements, vehicle networks, test environments and software interfaces.
As the V&V activity grows, you will become a key technical interface with the customer, working closely with the CS Group Canada Technical Project Manager and technical leads across System Engineering, Functional Safety and SOTIF activities. You will help establish the testing approach, coordinate technical topics with the customer, and support the onboarding and technical guidance of additional V&V engineers as the team scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop automated test scripts using CAPL (CANoe) and ROS2.
- Validate autonomous truck features including perception, planning, control, takeover and Minimum Risk Maneuver (MRM) functions.
- Configure vehicle network simulations and test communication interfaces
- Analyze test results, logs and network traces to identify issues and support root-cause analysis.
- Develop fault-injection and robustness tests across SIL, HIL and vehicle environments.

- Collaborate with system, software, integration and safety teams to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues.
- Act as a key technical interface with the customer and support the technical onboarding and guidance of additional V&V engineers as the team grows.
- 8+ years of experience in automotive, embedded or autonomous-system V&V/testing.
- Strong hands-on experience with CAPL and Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, including test development and network simulation.
- Strong knowledge of ROS2 middleware; familiarity with DDS and SOME/IP.
- Knowledge of vehicle communication protocols, including CAN, CAN FD, J1939.
- Programming and test automation experience using Python and C++.
- Experience with SIL/HIL testing, test automation and debugging of distributed embedded systems.
- Strong ability to interpret system requirements, identify relevant signals/interfaces and translate them into effective test scenarios.
- Ability to work independently, lead technical discussions and interface directly with the customer and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- UDS diagnostics and knowledge of ISO 26262 and safety validation activities as an asset
