Senior UX Researcher & Design
IQVIA is seeking a highly experienced UX Researcher and Designer to lead end-to-end user experience research and design for AI-enabled clinical technology solutions within the Applied Data Science Center. This role requires a senior practitioner who can operate independently, lead through ambiguity, and partner across product, engineering, data science, clinical, and business teams to deliver evidence-based, user-centered experiences.
The successful candidate will contribute to emerging Tiny Teams using the IQVIA Agentic Operating Model, a derivation of the Delta-Echo / FDE process. The role will focus on translating complex clinical, operational, and AI-assisted workflows and artifacts into usable, trusted, and scalable product experiences.
Key Responsibilities- Lead UX research and design activities from discovery through delivery, including problem framing, research planning, synthesis, concept development, prototyping, validation, and post-release learning.
- Plan and conduct qualitative and quantitative research to understand user needs, behaviors, workflows, pain points, and decision-making contexts.
- Translate research insights into clear recommendations, design direction, and product requirements that support business, technical, and user outcomes.
- Design and evaluate experiences for AI-enabled products, including Large Language Model-based tools, agentic systems, automation workflows, and human-in-the-loop decision support.
- Create UX artifacts such as journey maps, workflow models, personas, service blueprints, wireframes, prototypes, usability findings, and design specifications.
- Partner closely with team leads and cross-functional stakeholders to align priorities, clarify tradeoffs, and guide teams toward practical, user-centered solutions.
- Operate collaboratively and effectively within small, fast-moving Tiny Teams using the IQVIA Agentic Operating Model, contributing to rapid cycles of experimentation, delivery, measurement, and iteration.
- Provide UX leadership by creating structure in ambiguous situations, facilitating decision-making, and influencing product direction through evidence and clear communication.
- Mentor UX colleagues and cross-functional partners by modeling strong research, design, validation, and collaboration practices.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Design, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in UX research, product design, usability evaluation, and user-centered product development for complex digital products.
- Demonstrated ability to independently own end-to-end UX work across discovery, design, validation, delivery support, and iteration.
- Strong proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods, including interviews, contextual inquiry, surveys, usability testing, workflow analysis, and synthesis.
- Strong interaction design, information architecture, prototyping, and visual communication skills.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams across product management, engineering, data science, clinical, operations, and business functions.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence through evidence-based recommendations.
- Proficiency with UX research, design, prototyping, and AI-enabled productivity tools such as Figma and companion tools, Copilot, Cursor, AI synthesis tools, and related platforms.
- Experience designing or evaluating AI-enabled products, LLM-powered workflows, agentic systems, intelligent automation, decision-support tools, or emerging technology solutions.
- Experience in healthcare, life sciences, clinical research, or other regulated, data-intensive domains.
- Familiarity with agentic operating models, rapid experimentation, systems thinking, and AI-assisted product development practices.
- Experience designing enterprise applications, analytics workflows, data visualization experiences, or complex operational tools.
- Experience mentoring UX practitioners or helping cross-functional teams strengthen research, design, and validation practices.
- Certification or advanced training in UX research, product design, human factors, AI product development, or a related discipline.
- Experience working in fast-paced small teams a plus.
